My friend and I stayed at the Ice Apartments for two nights. It was in a great location, very clean and great amenities. We really enjoyed the few nights we stayed there! The shower pressure was great and the beds were very comfy!

The hotel was really well equipped and build with good quality. They have been thinking everything even the noise which is caused by the people coming out of the bars during the weekends. There is earplugs available in the room.
The breakfast offer provided by the hotel is good as it is. But the place is not the closest one, you may go to any of the restaurants nearby to eat as well. Although the breakfast (Port 9 / Early in the morning) is really good!

Upon our arrival to Reykjavik we easily found the Ice Apartments via transport from the airport. Ice Apartments was, (as advertised right in the city center).
Upon entering our first floor apartment, the first thing we noticed was the clean smell! My nose is the first indicator. The apartment was spacious, and very clean, with a great room effect, including living room with couch, table, chairs, kitchen, washer/dryer combo, and large (did I mention clean) bathroom with tiled shower, and warm floors! The bedroom was large enough for two suit cases, night stands, and large bed. Bathrobes, with slippers were there waiting for us. Also as advertised new ear plugs were available should their be any outside noise. We found no cause to use them.
We enjoyed our stay in this very clean and modern apartment, and wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.

We are on the 4th of 6 nights at the Ice Apartments and so far it's maybe the best lodging decision we've ever made. The apartment is a small one-bedroom nicely furnished in grey and white, with comfortable bedding, a nice couch, wifi, and all the kitchen basics (including coffee, two cartons of milk, and teabags to get you started in the morning).

You 'check in' at the Icewear store next to the Dunkin Donuts on Laugavegur - it's a 3 minute walk from bus stop 6 at culture house. We arrived at 9AM and the shop staff took our bags, then promptly sent us off for coffee/breakfast - we went to Braud & Co and got pastries, which we took to a coffee house nearby. We came back early afternoon and the staff let us into our apartment early since it was already clean, which was very kind of them (I think we really looked like we'd been awake for 26 hours at that point).

The apartment is just so welcoming after a long day out in the countryside. We enjoyed hot tea and treats from Sandholt in the afternoons and sampled last cal restaurants for late dinners. There is a Bonus grocery roughly 4 blocks up Laugavegur and plenty of restaurants nearby. If you want the perfect breakfast, go to Braud & Co, get a loaf of their freaking INCREDIBLE sourdough, pick up Icelandic butter at Bonus (they sell it in pats, look in fridge room on lower shelves for butter), and enjoy skyr with granola, buttered Braud & Co sourdough toast and tea/coffee in the living room. (Look, people, Iceland is not a place to avoid dairy or carbs, so get over it.)

There are only two drawbacks to this lovely experience: Friday night and Saturday night. Laugavegur is bar & restaurant central for young tourists (and probably party-happy Icelanders as well) and weekend nights sounded like we'd landed on frat/sorority row. On Sunday at about 2AM, we stood in the living room and watched/listened as two young women drunkenly consoled their friend Maya, who had collapsed in a weeping heap next to the apartment dumpster in our courtyard. Maya was apparently lamenting a breakup that had occurred in a nearby bar - and I do mean wailing lamentations; she sounded like she was ripping out her hair in grief. We were tempted to head downstairs and ask Maya to please grieve elsewhere, but her friends pulled her up from the concrete and trundled her out of the courtyard before we could get our slippers on. We sincerely hope they took her home and not back to the bar, because the last thing Maya needed was another drink.

Anyway, bring very good earplugs or noise cancelling headphones. My Bose worked well though they're not the best for sleeping. The Ice Apartments are set back from the street, but it's a noisy area on weekends... and where there are hookup bars, there are likely to be sodded boys and girls wailing over other (probably equally sodded) boys and girls.
