The Osborne is located fairly well for accessing Valletta's attractions. We loved the city and the surrounding area. Our room was small and dark, with the only window located in a sort of alcove that provided very little light. The mattress was very soft and uncomfortable. We thought breakfast was quite good, especially the scrambled eggs, and the staff at breakfast were pleasant and friendly. However, we felt strong-armed and bullied by the man at the front desk. He talked us into purchasing a tour to Gozo that we really didn't want; a ride to the airport in a hotel car that was more expensive than a taxi; and he de-activated our room keys before we had even checked out. On a positive note, the Sotto restaurant across the street had the best pizza we've eaten in years! Be sure to go there, no matter where you stay.

Stayed for two weeks and would go back again. Location is ideal as it is in a quiet street only 5 easy minutes walk from Republic Street, the main street through the city, and 10 minutes easy walk to the main bus station from where you can get buses to anywhere in Malta. You can get a bus pass for unlimited travel for 7 days for only 21 euros. They also have a 2 week pass but I don't know the price.
We went half board but if we go again it will be on a B&B basis as there are so many restaurants, pizza parlours and cafes you will be spoiled for choice.
Valletta is like an upturned bowl with the city centre and most popular attractions on or near the top and steep streets leading down to ferries and peripheral attractions

Room Tip: What is classed as a balcony is really only like a long window with double opening shutters on the top half.

Probably our fifth time at the Osborne but we keep returning because of the location and the lovely staff and comfortable rooms at this small, beautiful hotel. We normally stay on a bed and breakfast basis but we have dined at the hotel in the evening and the meals on offer are normally really good. The hotel is in an excellent location with a fairly level short walk to the centre of Valletta (no steps!). It is within very easy reach of the bus station from where you can travel all over this delightful island. We always have a deluxe room as they have the best views.

All the staff are very friendly and helpful but special mention has to be made of Noel and Brigitte. We will be returning.

First I've got to say - we had no complains while our stay - because all of the following things just can't be fixed because this is what it is.
We asked for an upper level room so we will have more light , and did get one with great bay view (except one broken window curtain that couldn't be fixed so had to stay shut).

Location - 5/5 . Really can't think of a better location while visiting Malta.
Cleanliness - 4/5 . Can improve, most towels were dirty but room was fine.
Sleep Quality - 2/5 . Bed&pillows are not good .
Stuff - 3/5 .Concierges were fine and helpful, others - not so much.
Breakfast - 2/5. Very basic breakfast.
Price - 2/5 . The price to what-you-get ratio is really low.

All in all , this place is a classic almost-3. If you don't plan on staying at the hotel too much and don't have back problems ( if you do , those beds are not for you ) and you manage to get a fair price (not the regular price) , this hotel is sufficient for a 3 nights stay, not more.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper levels room

We spend 3 nights in the Osborne Hotel. Very Good located in the historic center of La Valette. This hotel is just nice but too expensive I think. The room are very small and the breakfast is average.
