Spent 10 nights here in October and had a very enjoyable holiday, however I do have a few negatives points, which could be easily sorted.
The rooms were dated. Take the peeling wallpaper off the walls and paint them. Plenty big enough for the three of us. Beds were comfy and air con excellent. The shower curtain was on an extendable pole which kept falling down. New bath and glass shower curtain would bring it up to date.
Two outside pools were good, although the steps on both pools were dodgy. One day it rained,in the morning, and we went to the indoor pool, which was awful. It looked like it had been abandoned. Dark, dirty, dingy, cold with plaster missing and broken plastic. Only two other people were in there. The sunbeds inside were new with some of the wrappings still on. Yet some of the sunbeds outside were broken and old and when you sat on them they bounced up and hit your head. Changed the sunbeds before there is a serious accident.
Food was delicious, with plenty of choice.
Excellent choice of all inclusive drinks. Cocktails for adults and children were excellent. Very generous servings. The girls at the bar were a joy and worked very hard.
Ice cream all day.
The two entertainment staff were lovely and friendly.Evening entertainment was good with bingo,singers,dancing. They also had a bouncy castle which went up after mini disco which was nice for the little ones.
This hotel is definately not a four star hotel. The hotel would argue this but I have stayed in a few four star hotels and,in my opinion, in order to keep it 4 star, things need updating.

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel after reading such negative reviews prior to our holiday. We had emailed in advance to request adjoining rooms as we were travelling with friends and our 2 young children (2 year old and 4 month old) which they provided. Yes the rooms are dated, but we don't go on holiday to spend all day in the bedroom, so it didn't matter to us. The hotel provided a bed for our 2 year old and a travel cot for our baby and the main bed was a good size. Food was plentiful and there was always something to eat. Pool was a little cold but we went out of season, so this was to be expected. We found the staff to be lovely and nothing was too much trouble, the one evening we couldn't find a table they swapped the signs so we could sit on the other side. I think the staff treat you how you treat them and when our toilet seat broke it was fixed the following day once we mentioned it to the guest relations manager. Everyone works incredibly hard and long hours, but we found them to always be polite and welcoming. Brilliant holiday.

After being apprehensive due to bad reviews in September we were pleasantly surprised arriving at the Hotel Avlida in October, the staff on arrival were very friendly & helpful (also speaking English) & we were settled into our room quickly, yes the rooms do need some updating but everything worked fine for our stay & we were only in the room to sleep & shower anyway, the sea view we had was fantastic though & we also had a great view of the Tomb of the Kings.
Food here was plentiful, always found something nice to eat & enjoyed trying a few local dishes, the Chefs were all on hand to discuss the food with us & the tables were cleared immediately by friendly & efficient staff so getting a table was never a problem, the hotel Manager was on hand to help out at every meal time too & we found him to be a very nice man who always had time to say hello.
The drinks at both the pool & inside bars were definitely not watered down, if anything they were actually too strong at times due to the girls behind the bar being very generous! We found the entertainment to be fine for us, especially as the season was coming to an end so the hotel was perhaps not as full, a dance or music show most nights along with bingo, also the games during the day by the pool were fun & frequent.
We had no trouble getting loungers at the pool & the only issue we saw were people too lazy to pick up after themselves & leaving their rubbish at the backsides for others to clear up.
We noticed a few comments that said the hotel was too far out from the harbour or town centre but this is nonsense, the bus stop was right outside the hotel if walking wasn't your thing or the walk to the harbour was a very pleasant stroll taking approx 20mins, there are countless places to eat & drink on the way as well so it was nice to break up our journey with a beer!
Overall we were more than satisfied with our holiday & in fact have to say a huge 'thank you' for the unexpected gift of champagne & a birthday card that were placed in our room, such a kind gesture!

Had a lovely weeks holiday made extra special by Agatha one of the hotel members of staff, who went out of her way to assist and advise us on how to get the best out of our holiday , she certainly went that extra mile , will certainly look to go back in 2018

After reading some reviews i spent a month trying to change to another hotel i was so glad I couldn't . Yes in some parts i agree the hotel needs updating but the staff more than make up for this . During my stay i became ill with high blood pressure the receptionist took the time to help by phoning my insurance company and making sure i got to the hospital safety .During the rest of my stay all staff made sure i was ok and made me feel safe knowing i could phone at anytime . My room was always kept clean and i put on 5 lbs in weight . Will be going back next year
