We arrived at the Louis Imperial, Paphos, on the day of our 43rd Anniversary, after making the booking through Thomsons. They had passed onto the hotel the reason for our holiday, and so when we got to our room, the was a bottle of Bubbly waiting for us, compliments of the Hotel. We thought that it was a lovely personal touch, and it started the 2 weeks All Inclusive holiday off to a perfect start.
If anyone is thinking to try Cyprus, perhaps for the first time (I had worked at Limassol and Larnaka before) then you won't go wrong with the Imperial.
The rooms are comfortable without being over the top, the food is by far the best in any hotel we have ever stayed at (my wife is Veggie, and the chef even offered to make her something specially for her if there was nothing to her taste!!) needless to say, he didn't have to go to that trouble. From Reception we were made to feel that we were special.
We couldn't fault any of the staff, from Bar Staff to Room Service, from Restaurant Staff to Entertainment Staff, they were simply the Best!
What a wonderful experience we had, and have booked again for next year, and we are both looking forward to another wonderful holiday.

Room Tip: We had Sea Views and Balcony and found it really worth the extra.

Had an absolutely magnificent week during the half term break - but this is nothing more than I expected as this was our 9th stay in as many years. This hotel is run by polite and friendly staff who always go that little extra to please and guess what - they respond and don’t expect a tip for doing so. Wonderful people the Cypriots. A lesson here for the Spanish / Turkish and Egyptians? Plus it’s spotlessly clean and safe both inside the hotel, hotel grounds and Paphos itself.

Stayed all inclusive - as a couple with a teenage daughter. Thankfully both my wife and daughter were well occupied by the fantastic and hardworking entertainment team ( Sarah / David)who respectfully left me alone to vegetate in the very warm sun alongside a cold beverage courtesy of the equally hardworking waiting staff ( especially Bogdan) always on patrol around the pool and guys if this isn’t right then I’m afraid you’re not quite right!!! :)

Food is as good as if not better than anywhere I’ve been - well cooked with plenty of variety (Evenings have 7 different themes during the week e.g. Chinese and Italian) and breakfast is so comprehensive that you could easily eat enough from the vast array of different items and be able to miss lunch and not go hungry.

Rooms are spacious and clean and the majority have a very good view – we had room 350 which has an exceptional view of the harbour and pool area. Yes, they do require a revamp but they are really not that bad. At the end of the day you have to weigh up the trade-off between the 7 hours a day you’ll spend in a superior room / 17 hours of mediocre service / food elsewhere against 7 hours of a mediocre room and 17 hours of superb food / service at the Imperial beach – I know which I prefer. And from the number of return visitors I see year after year so do hundreds of others.

This year the team at the Imperial did us proud and I thank you all for making this holiday what is was. God (aka bank manager) willing we’ll be back next year to enjoy another delightful break. Just like a comfy pair of old slippers - much too comfortable to give up :)

We chose this hotel as a late deal through Thompson as we were invited to our Cypriot friend's wedding in late October.

We wanted a hotel that was within walking distance (for us) from the harbour and which had a reasonable range of facilities, we have stayed in the area a few times and knew that this hotel is on the costal footpath to the harbour and also has a regular bus route on the road outside the front.

Note: It is a longish walk ( about 3km each way) and would not be good if you are either don't like/ are unable to walk long distances or possibly in the height of summer when 3km can be difficult due to the often 40+C heat.

We ended up with a double family room (two bedrooms - sleeps four) with half board (although I believe I only tried to book a room for two with B&B but the price was cheaper anyway so I am not compaining!).

As other people have said, the decor in the first couple of rooms we were given was not as good as it could have been and there were a few issues with the plumbing...nothing devastating but could be improved. The balconies faced the road and did not get any sun during the day, a room on the opposite side of the hotel with a sea view is definately the way to go.

After two days we were moved to a second family room with a sea view which had a higher standard of decor and plumbing and was a great improvement. No real complaints about that room at all. Can't vouch for the air conditioning as in November the air temperature is about 20-25C in the shade so we did not need it at all.

The standard of cleanliness of the hotel was high, no complaints there, the cleaning staff were very friendly and polite.

As other people have stated one of the gems in this hotel for us was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the service/reception/restaurant staff were very polite and really made you feel welcome and the entertainment team were very good. Regular activities are planned throughout the day and the entertainment staff do wander around and try to get people interested but they are not pushy and will leave you alone if you decline.

The other great thing about the hotel was the food, the meals are all buffet style ( although there is a small lunch menu available too) but there is great variety and the quality is good. They were also very flexible with allowing us to choose which meal we took as our half board ( lunch or dinner) so you could choose from day to day if you wanted to eat in the hotel in the evening or go to dinner in a restaurant in town and have a buffet lunch instead.

Based on our experience I would definately recommend this hotel and we will be looking at going back next year.

Room Tip: Go for a room with a sea view, you will get sun on the balcony pretty much all day.

We wanted a relaxing week in the sunshine and this hotel provided everything we expected. The staff were amazing and a real credit to the hotel. They were very friendly, helpful and keen to make sure our stay went well. Our room was at the back of the hotel and very quiet. Yes as other reviewers have stated the rooms are a little old fashioned but our room was very spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. We were on half-board, enjoyed all of our meals and liked the idea of themed evenings. The wide choice, variety, presentation and quality of the food was excellent with staff continually restocking the dishes. The restaurant manager and all his staff were efficient and we never had to wait for our drinks to arrive or our finished plates to be removed. The hotel is situated about a 20 min from walk from the centre of Paphos. It is an easy and lovely walk along the seafront and the hotel is in a perfect location for a holiday at Paphos.
