The restaurant is located in a small alley near Stefan Church. The famous schnitzel is simply huge and very tasty. You should order side dishes. Don't give up to visit here when you in Vienna.
In busy times, it is recommended to book in advance

The shnitzel at Figmueller is to die for! The food was delicious and the service was great. This location is the same kitchen as the original Figmueller but it's much bigger so it's easier to get a table.

We visited Vienna in mid-March 2018. On the 3rd day, we visited Figlmueller's. Initially the one in the small alley. But after some specific hour, they accept only reservations, so we visited their other place at Baeckerstrasse. Waited there for about 15 minutes, since the place was overcrowded. Eventually we did enter!
We were lucky too, we were shown to our table in the first floor, so we could see the other tables downstairs. It gave as a good view of what was going on!

We ordered 1 figlmueller's schnitzel and one chicken schnitzel. Also a traditional Austrian soup (the one with the chopped potatoes and some mushrooms as well) and one parsley potato portion.
Well the main dishes were platefuls! Imagine a schnitzel thin but like 30 cms in diameter! This portion is very satisfying to see especially when very hungry! After devouring all of our food, the verdict:
Regarding my schnitzel: It was a normal schnitzel. Nothing out of the ordinary. Tasted like the one i could eat at my country. OK, maybe differently cooked but all in all good taste without leaving any great impression to me. Not to imply that it was not good. It was great! But simply good and not extraordinary.
The chicken schnitzel was again good. But if i was to give a +1 point, this would go to the chicken schnitzel. Having tried them both, i must admit that i enjoyed this more than the figlmueller's schnitzel.
The soup was very tasty - i suggest to try it!- The parsley potatoes were a good and matching side dish.

All in all, we enjoyed out meal very much! In case we visit Vienna again, we would go to Figlmueller's again (if hungry for a schnitzel).

Something to say about likes and dislikes:
- Your stuff is good and helpful.
- Your main plate sizes are more than satisfying.

- We felt like there was a little tension in the atmosphere. Maybe make the place a little more happy and relaxing, put some traditional music and lighten the atmosphere a little. Personally i come there knowing that it would cost me some more money but i also come to relax and savor my meal.
- Where i come from, in case a dish is served with one thing only (like your schnitzel), in most cases (for me) it does not leave a good impression. However i was prepared for your plate. But in my opinion, you could add something to the straight schnitzel plate. Of course the hungry customer will also order a side dish. But someone who wishes to taste the famous Viennese schnitzel, cannot eat only meat (to put it roughly).

Kind regards for your place and your staff, you do belong to my 'will surely visit again in the future' places in Vienna. Keep up the good work!

We sat in the window seat on our first afternoon in Vienna and enjoyed a delightful, late lunch of wiener-schnitzel (one veal, one pork) with a mixed salad and their local wine. The pork schnitzel falls over the edges of the plate - thin and perfectly cooked. You may not believe you can eat the whole thing, but you can! We arrived at about 2:30 pm and were happy there was no wait. Our waiter was attentive and it was another perfect experience.
