Owner description: The Cultural World Heritage Site of Schönbrunn Palace is Austria's most frequently visited tourist attraction. In the palace the residential and state rooms with their original furnishings and decorations convey an authentic impression of the imperial lifestyle. The park and gardens surrounding the palace make Schönbrunn in a unique synthesis of Baroque art as well as providing a convenient and highly popular recreational area for Vienna's population.

We arrived there around 9.30 with little affluence of people. At 11h it was very crowdy. It deserves the visit, the gardens are beautiful and the views from the upper palace are fantastic.

My original intention was to avoid Schonbrunn Palace because a local told me the price of admission to get inside the palace was not worth it. SO glad I didn't listen! While it's true that you have to pay to go inside, it's totally free to go for a stroll in the beautiful 460-acre garden behind it. After you're done walking through the garden maze, climb up to the top of the hill that overlooks the palace to get the most breathtaking view of Vienna for free :) Travelers and locals enjoy relaxing on the grass and taking in the nice view. It's a great spot to sit and relax after a long day of sightseeing. Worth a visit for sure!

Spend your time waiting to enter the palace in the park behind the palace. When you enter, choose the Grand Tour to get a complete impression of the splendour of the royal rooms.

Visited Schonbrunn Palace. It is a huge property with very large garden. There is a zoo also for kids and a toy train. The paintings and the furniture are truly excellent and worth visiting

A great place to visit. Pop inside the palace and grab one of the audio tapes to listen to. Each room is designed in a different way and the history of each room is equally as fascinating. Stroll amongst the gardens to find their hidden treasures such as statues and fountains. As we went at Easter there was a wonderful Easter market selling a variety of wares. The food stalls were equally delicious and they had plenty to offer for vegetarians.
