We stayed at the Beethoven Vien soon after renovations had been completed and were absolutely delighted with everything the hotel had to offer. Our room was excellent and the bathroom & shower modern and well-equipped. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful. On arrival we were a little ahead of check-in time, so were pointed in the direction of the complimentary tea/coffee and cake offered each day in the lounge. There is also a small bar, where you can get drinks 24 hours/day, the reception staff serve these. Breakfast is amazing; service is fabulous and this is a super aspect to the whole hotel experience. The hotel itself is very convenient; it's easy to walk into the city and as the Nachtmarket is very close, there is ample choice for evening meals within a very short distance. The only thing we would suggest is for hotels (not just the Beethoven) to publish directions from rail stations on their websites, which would be really helpful. Suggestions for visits in Vienna are plentiful; we enjoyed the Spanish Riding School (but get there early and buy tickets before you join the queue); the shopping areas are interesting and the Opera House etc are all easily accessible. Don't waste your money on a river/canal trip; very boring and with nothing to see except graffiti!
