This really lovely hotel is so very comfortable and stylish. My wife and I stayed here in early December 2016. On our arrival we were greeted by friendly and efficient staff. Our room was spacious, warm and cosy and needless to say spotlessly clean. Most of the sights of Vienna are within walking distance of thehotel. An excellent breakfast buffet is on offer in the mornings. All in all we had a very pleasurable experience staying in this very lovely hotel. We will definitely return.

My husband and I visited Vienna for the first time this November. Upon check-in we were greeted by the friendliest staff to help us get settled in. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and pretty spacious. We did have a little trouble with the wifi cutting in and out, but it was not a major issue. The location was very ideal- less than 5 minute walk to St. Stephen's. Maybe 5-10 minutes walk to Hofburg Palace. Very close to a metro station as well. Plenty of restaurants and things to see nearby. The city is absolutely beautiful at Christmas time, and the Christmas markets are such a fun experience! If we return to Vienna, we will definitely stay here again!

Stayed here several times before, as it was a good deal and close to the center. Last trip, the yelling on the street kept me awake all four nights. Nothing the hotel can do to control that. Take note though, a neighboring restaurant has an outdoor cafe/bar set up right below the windows.

The aged mattresses were wallowed out, offering no back support whatsoever. I don't mind the threadbare furnishings, but a good mattress is a must, and no longer the state of things here. Breakfast was good, though the service was curt.

Very disappointed with the service. Upon arrival, my wife inquired about Spanish Riding School tickets that were to have been delivered to the hotel for the next day. No one could find them, until a call was made to the ticket office. They asdurred the hotel that they were there. Upon actually looking, the staff found them. The next night, we asked for a recommendation for coffee or a drink, somplace close. We were directed to the 'American Bar', about 500 meters, and seventeen other cafe/ bars away.

On checkout I inquired if the rate was correct, as it didn't match my confirm, and the desk clerk was pretty incensted. I seen that I had made a mistake, and fully apologized, but it didn't seem to matter. I left my spouse in the lobby while I went to fetch a rental car. While I was gone, she was advised that no where she sat was satisfactorily "out of the way". After 20 minutes of waiting, she was then accused of stealing from the room. Thankfully, she did not have to wait longer.

When I returned with the car, neither clerk was available to discuss the matter with me. If these gentlemen had a legitimate beef. Instead, they chose to beat up on a woman. Their families and the owner must be proud.

Sad experience, both from a facilities point of view, and the unhelpful staff. Probably the fallout of a poor economy. I'll miss what the place used to be.

Dear guest,

May we take this opportunity to give you some feedback and information from our side as well.
Yes we are located directly in the city center, and yes it can happen that there is a certain noise level from the street, 1/3 of our rooms are facing the Weihburggasse (front side), 2/3 of our rooms are facing the courtyard, so in a calm neighborhood.

A city brings life with it, pulsates, laughs, communicates …

We have guests they want to stay in rooms facing the front, or facing the courtyard, different guests have different desires.

Different people have different requirements or needs.
So different people need different mattresses. I personally can assure you, our mattresses are not older than 5 years, and they are constantly exchanged. Our aim is to find a good mediocrity degree of hardness, so this is what we have in all our rooms. Further we have of cause different types of mattresses, in order to change them according to our guests needs any time! (more hard, more soft) ... same can be done with our pillows as well for example.
So why did you not tell us, during your stay ?
Together we could have found the right one for you ...

The “American Bar” has been recommended because of special drinks and cocktails. Sure you can find other bars or coffee houses on the way to Kumpfgasse, we are located in the city center. The distance from the Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth in Weihburggasse to “American Bar” in Kumpfgasse is 250 meters and takes you comfortable 3 minutes only.

Tradition and consistency … two keywords to describe our hotel, it is in the eye of the beholder, but it was not your feeling this time.

Sincerely yours

Stayed here for two nights. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless. The staff are really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was nice. Coffee better than the tea. Centrally located. About five minutes walk to the Opera House.

The only downside was the building work taking place outside our room (104) which started very early in the morning.

I would stay here again without hesitation.

I recently spent 4 days in Vienna and I couldn't ask for a better hotel than Kaiserin Elisabeth. It is located a short walk from The Graben and St. Stephans Cathedral off of Kartnerstrasse -- the 5th Ave of Vienna. Kaiserin Elisabeth has an understated elegance with comfortable, clean rooms, marble floors and old-world Viennese charm. Best of all, it is very affordable for such a fantastic location.

Room tip: Hotel will store your luggage if you want to explore Vienna some more after you check out by 11 am.
