Having checked tripadvisor before booking, I knew what to expect. I was a bit worried as I was travelling alone and I knew the hostel was far from the city centre. But actually it was so easy to find. On the city trains, one line is named Huttledorf so it was easy to know what train to get, and just travel all the way to the end! Even better the hostel was a short five minute walk from the train station with no traffic or crossing busy roads...just a bit of a steep hill. The hostel was signposted from Huttledorf station which was very useful. There was a Spar shop right there to buy water, snacks etc for the evening. It was in a quiet residential area.
The staff were professional and polite. There was a huge garden at the back surrounded by trees and people were sunbathing in the evening.
In the room, it was a bit loud at about 10 or 11 pm as most people were coming back to their rooms at this time, and every time a door closes in the whole building, you can hear a loud bang.
The bathrooms were OK except for dead flies and wasps around the window and sink.
The room was nice and felt like being on a school trip! A nice touch was a personal plug socket, shelf and lamp at each bed. Also a locker with hangers inside to hang clothes, and plenty of hooks and space for your things.
I was staying for one short night and it suited me perfectly, as it was so close to Huttledorf station, to catch a train to the main station in the morning.
The price was good value for a big city such as Vienna.
