If you want to eat traditional food, it is best to eat it in the original country. We learned it well in this restaurant.
Also, the service while we sat and waiting for the food was terrible.
I do not know what happened to the waiters, but it took them 50 minutes to serve us the food.
One thing for sure, the next time I will eat this Gulash it will be in Hungary.

Visited here early evening before walking up and along to the StadtOpera. Quiet atmosphere, service was prompt and the goulash we ordered disappeared without a trace.

They have an amazing choice of goulashes (even the chocolate goulash for a dessert!). Small problem is that we couldn't find the menu of the day (the offer) in english only in german, the rest of the menu is translated. It is a bit more of a peaceful place with people dining in low voice. The only thing that we were bothered with was that when we entered we were standing at the entrance for a while; the servers just nodded and then ignored us without informing us if there are seats available and how long the wait is, well, actually, nothing besides the nod for a while. The service of 10% on the receipt that is included in the end was not deserved in my opinion. Still, plus on the taste of the food, chocolate goulash was my favorite.

OK food, good atmosphere, but understaffed and unfriendly. Had to go on a search for a ATM after the meal as they refused to take cards while we had to wait for a fortune to get the bill. Got charged for almost €6 for bread, which you could never find out beforehand.

They took all the meat and put them in the goulash museum And they charged all the people some Euros and a half just to eat em.
And it was reasonably good.
The grumpy Hungarian waitress mellowed when we used Google translate to charm her in her own language.
Will we return? Probably not. but it’s worth a bash if you are passing and feel in ghoulish mood
