This a great hotel in the centre of the city. The staff are excellent and speak good English which is very helpful and considerate of them. The breakfast bar is appetising and to have an ommelette cooked to order is a fine idea. As you can see from some reviews George Bernard Shaw wqs right when he said some People could go to heaven and start suggesting improvements. Here the rooms are clean and well sized and the room staff do a fine job. Fruit and coffee are available all day and the evening buffet is appetising and tasty. So a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Just take what you're given. If you don't like the view draw the curtain (supplied).

You get what you pay for. There are some unfair reviews slamming the price/quality ratio of this fine little hotel. Not sure why because this is Norway, and even mediocre is expensive. Bathroom floor was a bit grungy, and needed more than a surface cleaning, but the room itself was fine, and larger than expected. Staff were helpful and unrushed. I'll stay there again next time I'm in Bodø. Yes there are nice hotels in the area, but they cost a good deal more for rather small improvements.

Simple hotel, but you´ll find everything you need for a shorter stay. Bed was comfortable. Nice with complimentary evening meal including soup, bred, ham, cheese, fruits. Conveniently located, 10 minutes walk from the airport and closer still to ferry and railway station.

We stayed at this hotel for one night during our trip through northern Norway and we were quite satisfied. Our room was in the building on the opposite side of the street, which you can also reach through a private tunnel so you don't have to go outside when it's cold. It looked a bit dated... other colours could make a big difference... but it was clean, cosy and had everything you could desire (TV, minibar, renewed bathroom, comfortable bed etc.). It's location is right in the centre of the city and at only 2min from the airport and the ferry terminal to Lofoten so it couldn't be more convenient. For those travelling by car, please note that the parking spaces around the hotel are free only during the night (from 19-9 if I'm not mistaking) so don't forget to get a ticket if you need to park the car there during daytime! Staff were very friendly and didn't hesitate to answer our many questions. We were offered a light supper of fresh bread or crackers, a choice of 2 soups, ham, cheese, smoked salmon, jam, coffee, tea etc. which was again just what we needed after a long trip. Breakfast was quite similar and you could ask the chef for a fresh omelet of your choice, which was nice. Also important for those travelling during summer: there were padded curtains in the room which blocked most of the all night sunlight, so we had a good night's rest.

All in all, the hotel was simple and it looked a bit dated but for those passing through it's a perfect choice because it offers a lot for very little money, compared to the bigger and more expensive hotels around.

When trying to book a hotel in Bodǿ I couldn’t understand why there was so little choice available, upon my arrival I discovered that the town was hosting a cycle race during the weekend so I ended up stayuing at Hotel Skagen whilst making a trip to see “The Midnight Sun”.

My single room was a reasonable size on the fourth floor, there was a lift and and it had a nondescript view to the rear, but oh the bed was very narrow, so much so that I placed the desk chair beside it just in case I rolled over during the night and fell out.

There was plenty of hot water in shower and the wet room floor was heated ensuring that the large quantities of water left on the floor soon dried up.

The free Wi-fi connection was first class and available throughout the hotel.

Lastly, the inclusive breakfast was very good and plentiful with everything necessary to set you up for the day.

All I would say is that with taxi costs as high as they are in Norway, you might consider paying a little bit extra for a room in a more central hotel.
