This hotel is in a very convenient harbour-side location but with no decent views of same. But more than adequate accommodation and food, very efficient and friendly Reception team and fine as a first-visit base. Our room was small-ish but clean - limited tv and no tea-making or minibar (probably could not have afforded the latter - Norwegian prices are very high!). Good variety for breakfast and, in our case, a very adequate evening meal included in the deal. Don't put too much faith in the 'great afternoon tea' message - our experience was of queues lining up to make waffles, such that enthusiasm for the same had long gone by the time there was a slot. Buy your own booze from the one shop in town that has a permit to sell.
The hotel was not luxurious by any means but served its purpose well for two undemanding travellers. - probably budget end of mid-range but look at others.

Room Tip: I doubt many of the rooms had a decent view - the building is fairly hemmed in by others. And it was dark most of the time.

A great 2nd stay , fantastic location & so close to excursions & shopping. Staff very friendly & helpful . The restaurant has a great breakfast buffet , afternoon waffles are perfect after a days sledding & the offer of dinner a great bonus . Then unwind in the hot tub on the roof whilst watching the northern lights . Perfect

Me and my wife stayed a week at this nice located, on the harbor, seeing the famous cathedral. We had the best scenic view from the jacuzzi on the top flor. Service was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are small but o. k.
This is the first hotel we ever experienced through our 30 year travel, that whether you are hungry in the morning, at midday or
in the evening, you will always get something to eat. COMPLIMENTARY. And the food is good. You get a soup, main meal and salad. The only think you have to pay, are the drinks, and they are very expensive, since alcohol taxes in Norway are very high. A small beer costs 10 USD.

What a lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff, clean rooms and extra's galore that we didn't even expect (that even save you money). You get a great breakfast, snack meal in the afternoon ( waffles with jams and cream), a set evening meal that was delicious, a little fitness room with a rooftop hot tub and what better way to see the Northern lights than from the hot tub. Beds were comfortable and rooms very nice, although not sure what the strange ceiling poster was about. It is wonderfully positioned in the centre of Tromso for the museums and shops so ideal as a base of operations.

Room Tip: We always choose off the ground floor and away from the lifts as they tend to be quieter and the odd numbers have a better view.

One night in Tromsoe - so my basis need was just to have a place to sleep. Room was Great - overlooking the harbour. As most guests were hunting the northern light I had the topp roof outdoor jacuusi to my selv. Relaxing. Free waffles - and a free evening meal was a Great surprice. Topp breakfast. And the staff was friendly, smiling and helpfull. I felt like home. The town is just outside the doorstep.
