Beautiful building, inside and especially outside- can definitely see how it looks like an iceberg.
Loved being able to walk over it and climb to the top and admire the view and sunset this evening
Architectual beauty. In the city center. Very good acustic inside the hall. Worth visiting even if You dont want to go to the conzert.
Modern great design opera house, just be careful when you walk up to the top from the outside in winder, it was slippery but the view was great. Enjoy!
This the first place we went after getting off the overnight ferry from Copenhagen. The day was sunny and we saw a very long line trying to get into the opera house. We found out that it was an open day with young performers giving the public shorts of their skills. They also had a few exhibits with items you could see or try on hats that were worn in performances. One sweet child about 4 or 5 years old looked so longingly at the ballet shoes. I hope her dreams come true. We also went into the gift shop which had a fine selection of unique items for the arts. I wish we were here for a outing to the opera or ballet.
I would highly recommend the walking tour of the inside of the opera house. This tour was magnificent. The lady showing us around was a former performer herself and was incredibly knowledgable of the inner workings of the opera house, as well as the history of ballet and opera within the city. To see behind the scenes of a working opera house, with backstage, costume making and more was a real treat. The architecture and explanation thereof was very interesting and inspiring. I would highly recommend this tour. (We also saved almost 1/3 off the price of a book in a subsequent purchase in the gift shop with our tour sticker, which is worth knowing!).
