I picked this place at random on Booking.com website cos of the low fee promised,and simply cos we had just disembarked from starcruise.
The hotel is on a steep hill and had probably a low turnout that day,carpark was empty and no patrons around.Seeing this i had pulled over my car at the entrance to have a quick check in and my hubby was in the car on the phone,our car was not obstructing anyone or any cars.
The valet who was there came and asked me to move my car and i had told him,my husband was in the car and i had a reservation at the hotel.After checking in i came back to my car and this time another valet and indian man was asking me why i didn't remove my car and i told him my husband is in the car,if he wanted him to move the car he should have just told my husband to park elsewhere.what is the big fuss?? we are not obstructing anyone and we wanted to load our luggage as your hotel is on a mountain!why do they have to keep harrasing us like that.
The front desk guy at the reception could have at least offered a smile,he was very unfriendly and not least bothered to help out when i asked him if we could have a seaview room.I did ask this as i know you have low occupancy and most hotels spoil us by giving a free upgrade to seaview room and other amenities,i have even received free breakfast on low occupancy days.
He was sticking by the rules and said if i wanted seaview i have to pay RM20,can you guys stop being soooo cheap?? why can't you offer guests a free upgrade when your hotel is empty!
Finally i said its alright,we got room 1909 at the far end and was handed a KEY?? since when we use keys for hotel room? on the way at the lift lobby at level 19 we saw the ceiling was fixed with tarpaulin to stop a leak....and there was tarpaulin on the floor of the corridor!! how can you give guests rooms on floors which have problems and faults!! this is really shodddy!
anyhow,we just stayed there waiting for the day to be over.The room given to us was decent,bathroom was clean,balcony could have been cleaned up from lizard droppings at least.We had a great view of the beach between the high rise condo facing our room.
never coming back ever again,staff should learn how to impress and sell the hotel not run the place down to the ground!!...staff should learn to be courteous and not hound guests and harrass to park their car when they are dealing at the reception.Absolutely horrible!
