This is a traditional seaside hotel, actually quite large, but I think it's kept mostly empty and not many rooms are sold. It could be wonderful, as lovely as the Grand Hotel just down the coast, but needs a lot of love and attention, and some interior and exterior design. On the plus side, we had a spacious room, which was clean and uncluttered, bright and light, with a nice well lit bathroom, and a view of the sea. Breakfast was fine. Service on reception is pretty poor and uninterested, certainly not welcoming or hospitable, really. The room was sad, but functional, and still has blankets and bedspreads. It's 2017 ! There are cheap soaps, plastic cups, only shampoo, plastic bins, an empty minibar, no bottled water or shortbreads or, again, any form of hospitality. Whilst a great location, a lovely old building, and the potential to be so much more, this hotel doesn't bother, which is a real shame. Still, we paid £105 for a room for 3 of us, including breakfast, so I am not going to complain.
