Lovely room. Well appointed. Hotel great location. Easy to reach town and beach. Staff excellent. However, meal times very slow. Although waitresses tried their best believe kitchen very slow. Meals very good but not very hot. Biggest complaint, however, no wifi. Staff blamed my tablet. However, everybody was told the same excuse. No one in our party of over 40 people could get wifi. If this could be sorted would have been excellent stay.

The accommodation was was adequate. I booked a single room but got one with twin beds. The bathroom was clean and very basic and poorly stocked. No soap. No shampoo. Towelling was clan and fresh. The lift only took two people at a time if they were not too heavy. The dinning arrangements were a bit strict. Breakfast at 8.30 and dinner at 6.30 so there was 100 people queuing to get in at these time. The dinning room was a bit crowded and very warm. The meals were very plain and basic but were always hot and adequate. The staff were terrific and managed to give a great and friendly service. The organisation in the kitchen must have been amazing. The Evans caters for the coach trip trade and does that well and is reasonable value for money.
I spend fours nights at the Evans Hotel on a coach tour. It was the worst bed I have ever tried to sleep in. Room clean staff wonderful very friendly food very good my room was at the front so very nosy. PLEASE CHANGE YOUR BEDS.
We realy enjoyed our stay at the evans hotel. The staff were excelent, friendly and helpful. The meals were lovely. The entertainment was good. The bus driver Shaun was very friendly Nd helpeful. Nothing was too much trouble for him.
My sister and I spent four nights at the Evans Hotel recently as part of a coach tour. We immediately felt the team spirit and personal attention that comes from valued staff as well as management. We enjoyed every meal - there was excellent choice and we found it all delicious. We got the impression of the management having given careful thought on simplification of their arrangements in order to streamline the dining. In our opinion, nothing was lost by this and the service given at table was excellent. It was as though each staff member had an interest in making the business thrive in these difficult times.
My sister needed her medication to be kept refrigerated and the staff were very helpful in making that possible.
The room was comfortable, adequate and well serviced with plenty of storage space. I would have preferred to have been able to see out of the window (there was obscured glass), but understand that not every room can have a nice view.
We particularly enjoyed using the outside seating space, which, while narrow, was pleasant with comfortable seating and shrubs.
We would definitely return.
Stayed at this hotel with my Mum. Room was spotlessly clean but extremely dated decor. Not enough drying space for 2 sets of towels. Room was not cleaned on one occasion and was told it was due to the changeover, but there was no-one else coming in for another few days, which left 15 guests in total.
Dining - breakfast is at 8.30 and dinner at 6.30. No other times available and summoned by a gong! Everyone in the hotel ate at the same time, dining room was extremely loud. Our table was forgotten by the Waitress on a few occasions, all she said was "sorry I forgot". Constantly leaning across diners to collect plates, even if still eating. If you wanted brown bread you had to ask for it as it was not offered. Menu very basic but food well cooked.
Sleep - when the hotel was full the outside noise was impossible. People sat outside chatting/smoking until gone midnight (despite being a no smoking hotel). There was no respect for other occupants of the hotel. Once these people had gone inside, the sleep quality was good.
Whilst waiting to leave on our last day, what we all presumed to be a member of staff being told off, the raised voice of the supervisor/manager could be heard by most of us. If you need to have conversations like this make sure it is out of earshot of your guests.
Will not return to this hotel.
