One of the best places I have ever stayed! It was warm, welcoming and the bed was so bloody comfortable... Our room was clean and fresh, with shower gel and other bits which was a lovely touch. Our hosts were fabulous down to earth and couldn't do enough to ensure all our needs were met. Breakfast was delicious too especially the sausage nom... Wishing them every the success in their new venture. Would definitely stay there again

So I arrived with my friend as we had a wedding to attend, we got there early and we were told we could check in early which was a great start as was a parking space on arrival.

Very friendly hosts and if we were stopping for longer would have had a few in the bar first but we had to get to the wedding.

The room although quite pokey was adequate for us and is a house at the end of the day so don't expect massive rooms. There was loads of milk, coffee and sugars etc which I noticed straight away as it's frustrating when you only get 2 of each item. There were plenty of toiletries in the bathroom and a mini fridge which was a nice touch as well as a microwave oven.

The breakfast was excellent as was the sausage they used (I'm a bit picky with bangers) and the rest was excellent. There was cereal and fruit corner yogurts and I had a massive jug of fresh orange on my table with a bigger glass than the norm and necked the lot as I consumed a lot of booze at the wedding.

We were given bottles of water and some small gifts on departure and I would definitely stop here again. There is also WIFI but we didn't spend much time in room as we were at the wedding.

Please don't book next September as we will want rooms for the Ska and Reggae festival ;)

Les and Lisa; fab hosts. Arrived at 12 and rang to ask if we could park up on the drive as check in booked for 2pm. Les welcomed us in immediately and said our room was ready. First impressions were friendly; a very warm welcome, beautifully decorated shared lounge and dining room. Spotlessly clean and really tastefully decorated. Shiny as a new pin! Les showed us the entry/exit for dining, shared lounge and licensed bar. Very impressed.
Couldn't help feeling just a little disappointed with our room though. It was a ground floor annexe and, we felt, very small. Les said to ignore the door inside that said 'private' but we did unfortunately feel uneasy as we could clearly hear people talking or moving crockery etc at what we discovered was the kitchen behind the door. It just didn't feel private in our room.
The room was decorated nicely.
We had a couple of feet around the bed to walk around it. There was a bedside table one side and a small collapsible clothing wardrobe at the other. A slim solid wardrobe would have been better with an extra bedside table to place phone, cuppa etc. The elastic open shelving on the collapsible wardrobe didn't really hold items as they fell through the gaps unfortunately.
There was a well stocked tray on a 2nd bedside table at one corner of the foot of the bed, with plenty of tea, coffee, milk, sugar, 2 biscoff biscuits and a couple of chocolate bars which was a nice touch. There was also a mini fridge which would hold about 6 cans of pop and a full sized kettle and of course 2 cups.
We felt the room would have felt more private if the adjoining door wasn't there (ie bricked up) but realise it is maybe another access point if needed when/if that particular room is not used as part of the b and b? but can obviously only assume. Maybe it is being bricked up at some point as Les and Lisa told us they'd only been there since 1st July this year.
We felt the bathroom door would definitely benefit from some hooks or an over door set of hooks for dressing gowns or shower towels and the very small shower cubicle would be much better with a door (it looked as though there had been one there previously) rather than a shower curtain as this, with the steam, clung to the body in the shower as there was very little room in the cubicle. There were plenty of nice touches like hand soap, sanitizer, miniature shower gel, shampoo and body lotions supplied. There were clean towels and flannels. The bedding was nice with a couple of nice extra cushions, a beautiful bedside lamp, nice curtains, it was tastefully decorated and items looked new. There was a small tv on the wall, free wifi and plenty of parking. Breakfast, cooked to order, was served between 8 and 9am and well cooked, not at all greasy which was nice. Plenty of tea, coffee, orange justice. There was also individually boxed cereal, yogurt and toast. Tables were beautifully laid out with quality crockery and place mats. I really loved those plates!
All in all a pleasant stay with great food and really friendly hosts but we didn't feel it was a big enough space or feel private enough.
I always write honest reviews and hope there are some constructive comments. I definitely cannot fault Lisa and Les for their warm friendly hosting and feel they could not improve on their hosting skills at all. They even offer guests parking after check out to enable them to stay for extra time which we really did appreciate.
Thank you Les and Lisa.

Room tip: I would ask for a room in the main part of the house although I haven't seen these I just feel the annexe is rather small.
