Called here for something to eat twice over the new year weekend both times we had the dog with us. No problems in regards to the dog made to feel welcome, you obviously have to eat in the bar areas but it's very cosy with a great fireplace. The food was down to earth cooked and presented very well and the staff were polite and helpful..the bill on both occasions was extremely reasonable. Sometimes it's nice to just go out and have a decent meal at a reasonable price this is exactly what we got at the Rockingham arms. We will certainly be visiting again in the future.

After slating this pub on out first review of them , we now have to retract that review, it turns out after us using the pub for a year or so that it is actually a fab place to drink and eat, food is excellent , trad beer is too,;and the staff and patrons are fab, new years eve meal was very good , but so has all the food we have eaten in there for last 12 mnths, we now use this pub every week and will continue to do so , very good

Just been for a Christmas eve drink as it's our local. It is a lovely pub but it always seems to let itself down with minor but irritating things that spoil expectations. Today I ordered a mulled wine as advertised. A nice hot steaming glass mug as shown on the picture for £3.49. I got the glass mug alright as shown but had barely a mouthful. It was a small mug could they not fill it to the top? Felt ripped off . Yes should have complained at the time. This sort of thing is typical of our visits but we still keep returning.....

We stayed in the Rockingham Arms last weekend booking in around 3pm. The pub was quite lively serving meals and drinks and was very popular.

The room which was across the road separate from the pub, was spacious and the large double bed was very comfortable. The shower was very good and the rooms and bedding were clean.

Breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly.

All in all it was a very nice pub to stay and we will book again

Went to The Rockingham Arms on Sat 9 Dec for a birthday meal. The food was awful, three out of three steaks were over cooked(we ordered medium and medium rare and got very well done not a hint of pink), one of our party didn't even get what he ordered, another had a mixed grill that tasted of old chip fat. We were put to eat in "The Fitz room" which is more like a school dinning room with a bar at one end. This bar wasn't being used apart from as a dumping ground for used dishes. When we complained we were offered a free dessert when we refused we were offered a free drink which we took but we won't be back.
