I booked online less than 24 hours from when I planned to arrive (Saturday 25th March). Upon arrival at the very centrally located property I was welcomed by Amanda and told that I had been given a room upgrade due to another room being vacant. The room was spacious, light and well decorated with lovely high windows. It was clear that it has been redecorated recently. The en suite again looked freshly decorated, was spacious and had a jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Amanda provided recommendations for dinner that evening and I chose my breakfast from a good variety of options. Tea/coffee and Borders biscuits were provided in the room and there was a multi-channel TV. Breakfast was served in the dining room with views to Lochnagar (which I went up that morning along with a number of other Munros). The fruit salad, yoghurt, cooked vegetarian breakfast, and 'doorstep' sized portions of toast kept me going until early evening with no need for lunch. I wouldn't hesitate to return - what a positive experience of good hospitality and a B&B that is memorable for all the right reasons. Thank you!

Room Tip: I stayed in the Balfluig room on the first floor (rooms are on the first floor or above), and it was lovely with views of Darroch Hill.

Superb B & B in beautiful Ballater. Lovely, spotless, well equipped and spacious room. Great breakfast with locally made bread. Thank you to Amanda and Martin who could not have been more hospitable and friendly hosts.
Fantastic location for sight seeing, castle visits, walking and cycling all on the door step.
Good local shops, superb food at The Lochnagar Indian Brasserie and bar meals at the Deeside Inn.

Room Tip: Balfluig room is a lovely big room with a great en-suite, and views of beautiful Craigendarroch hill.

Stayed for 3 nights in beautiful Ballater. Our room was cosy and very comfortable - Gordon Guesthouse is charming with real character. What we loved was the cosy house feel with Amanda and Martin being so friendly and helpful - even lending us their maps so we could go walking. The breakfast room is incredible with beautiful cutlery and crockery and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Ballater is such a quiet, friendly, beautiful place. We were sad to leave after 3 nights but definitely want to return before long!

Martin and Amanda were great hosts , full of local knowledge which was good for someone who wanted to do it all but knew i only had a wknd, so i was grateful that they put me on the right paths to explore the nearly NP
The room was comfortable, with an air of history. Breakfast was bang on , catered very kindly to a gluten free veggie!

Room Tip: when the station is rebuilt , a room over looking it will be interesting

We have again stayed at the Gordon Guest house, and must mention the fantastic welcome, superb rooms, and most excellent breakfast. We come here every year at this time, and the top quality is always maintained. Martin & Amanda are always friendly, and willing to offer any advice regarding the surrounding area. We always enjoy our stay here, and look forward to our next one.
