Had a day on filey beach and usually we would go to harpers at staxton roundabout but recently overdosed on fush pattie & chips so thought we would try the spital.we drank & dined outside in the sunshine.inside is a little on the dark side but staff very pleasant & courteous which is a big plus.decent sized car park too.we had gammon, chips, salad, peas, mushrooms, onion rings which was presented on a white rectangular plate.my partner had the chicken, chips, peas, salad and gravy and she remarked how nice the chicken & accompanying gravy was.all in all i was very impressed.the formal restaurant inside i must add, also looks very nice.we will certainly return here and i heartily recommend it.

Probably become my new favourite campsite. Great location, good price, great little shops, cafe and pub on site (serving lovely food and gin!). Imagine facilities may feel a little stretched when busy in peak times.
If the owners are happy with a little feedback I would just say recycling facilities would be good, local information about walks from the site and showers you can regulate your own temperature and stay on for longer than 10 seconds at a time (free though so always a bonus). Will be back.

We went last night Fri 15/6 We had booked z table as they said they were getting full up , everything seemed ok , nice service, very pleasent. We waited for 40 minutes and the place was practically empty, they kept saying our meal was being played up.
The food was just passable, although my partner said thiers was greasy and not not very hot or tasty. The puddings were the worst , 1 x lemon tart with soggy bottom and 1 x lemon cheesecake that crumbled it was that stale or seriously over cooked . Needless to say we won't be going back.

Really enjoyed the carvery, the meat was really tender and everything was cooked to perfection, the yorkshire puddings were enormous and yummy. Kids menu also very good. Very friendly and helpful staff, thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this pub.
