“Our summer break in Scarborough- a review”
Reviewed 4 July 2018 for a stay in June 2018

A well appointed top floor small apartment. Has everything you would want for a holiday although a little "tight" in the en-suite. The toilet still not flushing properly and the front door lock is still temperamental. Our little dog found the laminated flooring a little difficult to walk around on. Parking during our visit was not an issue but it has the potential to be so.

Thank you for your review. I have recently fitted a new toilet siphon and the guest following you took the time to inform me of the problem with the front door which has now been rectified. The door seal had sprung due to the hot dry weather. Had you informed me during your stay I could have attended to this during your stay. With regard to parking I am slightly dismayed you felt this could be a problem but wasn't? Obviously so could aliens, earthquakes and a range of other things that you neglected to mention. I will try to guard against these and any other problems or possible problems you have failed to make me aware of during your stay by power of telepathy. Only joking but please contact me duting your stay if there is an issue...

Great flat, which whilst small is very well designed and has everything in its place. Ideally situated for walks to the Italian Gardens, Miniature Gold and the Cliff railway for access to the Spa, beech and beyond. On street parking was ample and no problem.

“Lovely apartment close to South Bay”
Reviewed 22 March 2018 for a stay in March 2018

We went for a festival at the Ocean Spa , so the location was perfect , 5minutes walk to cliff railway. Unfortunately it was an exceptionally freezing weekend and we found the flat far from cosy. We did tell the owner who was very responsive and offered to buy blankets. We had brought a down sleeping bag and a fleecy blanket which we used. The accomodation is lovely. I have never seen such a well equipped kitchen with good quality pans, every conceivable glass and tumbler. I can see the curtained smoking balcony in the bedroom would be good in the summer. the two in the lounge area let the cold in as they have blinds. Behind the cooker is the open plan stairs to front door which not being blocked off contributed to cold. The sofa and bed were extremely comfy. The biggest let down was the cramped bathroom, with a sloping ceiling the shower was totally unsuitabe for a 6foot 4 mister. The wind blew a hooley through the extractor fan all weekend but keeping the door to bedroom shut , the bedroom warmed up. The bathroom having 2 outside walls, was baltic all the time we were there. I do have to emphasise it was an exceptionally cold weekend, windchill was -12 and you were cut in two walking to funicular railway. A lovely conveniently situated apartment, with parking on road outside . It's a 10 minute walk to Filey road and mini sainsburys with cash machine. We were booked in downstairs flat but James had a long term guest in, so we swopped. He was very helpful and responsive with queries and requests before we arrived and when we were there. He is in no way responsible for weather. Next time we'll try the downstairs flat.
