This is a lovely grand old building overlooking the lovely town of Buxton. Yes the hotel is dated and does need a refurb but has plenty of character unlike the modern chain budget hotels. No issues parking on arrival, we parked right on the front. Requested a room overlooking Buxton which we were given. Dated room, but very large, more than enough room for 3. The room itself was very warm but we were given fans to use if needed.
A busy bar area at night but could do with more staff.
Great outdoors area with plenty of seats and benches. Good family outdoor giant games, Connect 4 and Chess. Spent a happy hour or so playing whilst still enjoying a drink.
Not the best breakfast to be honest, and I did see a few stained cups.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if in the area.More
