“Very Good”
Review of Coffee Beans Cafe - CLOSED

Coffee Beans Cafe
Description: This is a nice little cafe in Buxton in the peak district. They are not part of any of the large 'chain' coffee shops. It was a welcoming place although slightly quaint. This quaintness however was a welcome departure from the plastic perfectness of chain coffee shops. They do a great cream tea and a lovely vanilla slice. Good for the tastebuds but not so good for the waistline!

Lovely food excellent coffee, trouble with this cafe not a enough staff to take all the orders which is a shame.
One young girl, on her own taking orders and doing the serving as well.

Cakes, pies bread ect, well worth buying from the shop part.

Called in this cafe with my parents husband and daughter yesterday. Very poor service we had to ask for our table to be cleared which was done but not wiped so was all sticky as were the menu's!!! Eventually our order was taken, when it finally arrived most of the coffee was in the saucer and as for my dads and my cream tea I can only describe it as disgusting jam all over the side of the little pot it was in and fresh cream????? I don't think so more like out of a can as it had turned to a sloppy liquid by the time it got to us as for the service and attitude of the staff it was very poor would not recommend this cafe to anyone!!

Called in this afternoon for a quick coffee and cake and was very pleasantly surprised after reading some of the comments about this venue on this site. We ordered a latte, decaf and 2 cakes, coffee and walnut and caramel chocolate shortbread. But because of the size of the shortbread, we ended up sharing it and we took the coffee cake away with us to eat later !!!

Latte was perfect - best hubby has had, I had decaffeinated coffee and it was really very good.

Would we go again for a lunch, most definitely. We saw the sandwiches and salads coming out of the kitchen and they looked gorgeous. Very well presented and scrummy, no small portions served here, if we hadn't been going out for a meal later that day we would have eaten lunch there.

Staff very friendly, efficient and nothing too much trouble. Can't wait for our next visit to Buxton will definitely return.

Popped in on a rainy Saturday for a coffee and snack. Found a table just vacated but not cleared, it took several minutes before the dirty items were removed, but the sticky table did not get wiped.
Another long wait before our order was taken, two coffees and toasted teacakes.
When the order arrived, the tray they were brought on was not clean, one of the saucers was covered in what looked like chocolate powder, which we did not have on our coffees, and a pot with a piece of butter in had remnants of jam around the rim. Cleanliness is not a strong point, neither is customer service as the three young girls working were stood around talking rather than looking after customers.
It's such a pity as the menu seemed really nice as did the cakes we saw available.
After leaving we saw at least two other coffee shops on the same street which looked nicer. We know where not to go next time we visit Buxton.

Had a steak pie from here and it was so good I bought five, and took them home, the meat and potato is really good too, staff are good friendly, and the cakes are really nice loads of choice, 5 for the price of 4.
