A very moving tribute to the victims of the PanAm bombing. The remembrance garden is superbly maintained and lies at the far end of the very well kept Dryfesdale Cemetary. Free to visit and open into the evening.

One cannot help but be emotionally touched by this beautifully kept memorial to the 243 victims of the Pam Am Flight 103 who lost their lives on 21 December 1988. Eleven others were killed on the ground in the terrorist bombing incident. Two, in my family reunion group, had lost friends in the tragedy so it was, indeed, a moment of reflection and remembrance. Individual memorial plaques have been placed by the families of those who were lost in the tragedy. Beautifully landscaped. Located in the Dryfesdale Cemetery, there are interesting family tombstones along the way to the garden. The Dryfesdale Lodge Visitors' Center, near the cemetery entrance, is well worth a visit.

In the previous two days - people had suggested that we stop at the Lockerbie memorial - since we were nearby, we popped in. The signs were a bit tricky but we found our way to a smallish cemetery that houses the memorial to the victims of one of the most well known terrorist attacks.

The whole cemetery is full of very large gravestones that seem to be family markers -- it seemed like 90% of the stones were over 6' high!

The memorial is in a garden of flowers with small plaques that have names and some short sentiments engraved on them. The stories are all the same - beloved, missed, loved life. It seems like so many of the victims were college students - all about my age at the time of the crash. What a sad and tragic waste of life.

This was one of the most personal memorials I have been to - not just a list of names and dates - but words and memories from loved ones really made it more special.

We were very moved by the fastidiously maintained grounds of the Lockerbie Garden of Remembrance.
My husband was most impressed with the lovely caretaker in attendance on the day we visited. I have mobility issues and it was pouring with rain. As we were the only visitors at the time, we were given permission to take our vehicle close to the Lockerbie monument. We are most grateful that this consideration was extended us.
