To find the car park is the first challenge set by this unusuall building.my first room Tv did not work same in second room.this got sorted although the reception was not great.i was told new owners had taken over 4 days ago ,they have work to do ,bar area is fine but the two rooms i visited were no were near the price asked manager could not do enough so if he is allowed to manage the this well appointed pub/hotel could realise its undoubted potential .breakfast good .

Just checked out from the hotel this morning with a colleague and very very disappointed by both rooms. Travel a lot with business and this has to be one of worst rooms I have stayed in. Window sills dirty, bathroom bin moulded. The first room had no TV. Overall very poor housekeeping.

The bar area has been renovated and very clean but upstairs needs mass improvement and I would not recommend anyone to stay.

Room Tip: I would ask for the rooms outside

Went the watch the game (City v EFC, 1:1.. Ref had a shocker!) with a few beers planned. Perfectly acceptable spot for what we needed. Didn't eat so can't comment on the food but good service and cold beer! Been before and will repeat!

The Cross Keys was one of the last stops on our month long family travel through Europe. Hal made our stay both comfortable and memorable with his kindness, knowledge and above-and-beyond attitude with regards to our comfort. From check in to helping select a delicious after dinner drink, his professionalism and knowledge of everything from bourbons, local beers, and attractions in Knutsford made this stop worth navigating the trip advisor app on my phone. The food was excellent and the accommodations clean and comfortable. Cheers to Hal and the Cross Keys.

You can forgive the dated and broken fixtures and fitting maybe... but what is not forgivable is the lack of cleanliness in the bedrooms and also the hallways and corridors. Our room - stuck in the attic despite booking one of the cottages 8 months ago, the bathroom smelt of vomit, the bath panel was hanging off, the floors on the bathroom and bedroom were so dirty my feet were black walking from the shower back to the bed.. the walls and floors of corridors throughout the hotel were stained with drink and heaven knows what else. Complaints fall on deaf ears..such a shame ... if some money was spent on updating and redecorating this would be a lovely hotel, but frankly i beleive the owners dont care - there is enough one off traffic passing through for customer satisfaction not to be a consideration for this place. Truley awful, avoid at all costs.

Room Tip: if you cant get one of the cottages to the rear then don't stay, they are slightly better than the ones inside the hotel but not much.
