We stayed at the lovely family run hotel for 2 nights to celebrate a family event.
We could not have picked a better place.

To start;
On arrival, a warm welcome from friendly staff, very helpful and check in was quick and easy.
We all met in the bar for a drink and were made to feel like nothing was a trouble, if we wanted it, it was ours.

The rooms; spacious and clean. Comfortable beds, wide array of beverages available in the room, what more do you need.

The service; I've said it once and I'll say it again; friendly staff, very helpful and nothing was a trouble.

We didn't have food the first night due to wanting to keep the dining room a surprise for all who attended so waited until the next day.

Breakfast;
Help yourself to fruit juice, cereals, youghurt, fruit whilst your cooked breakfast is being made.
Full cooked scottish breakfast for me; 2 sausages, 3 bacon, 2 poached eggs, 1 black pudding, 1 haggis, mushroom, tomato, beans and toast.
The waitress was very attentive without being intrusive.
All in all the perfect start to the day.

I had a snack during the day of fish goujons and hand cut chips with a selection of dips.
For something so simple was still raised to a new level of epic proportion.
The fish was flaky and moist.
The batter was crispy but not oily.
The chips were crunchy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside.

Not often you can hold a simple thing like fish and chips in such high appraise but Anthony and his team did just that.

Dinner; We set Anthony a challenge, this was a special occasion, we needed a special mock-tail to go with the evening and he rose to the occasion in fine form.
As I said before, nothing was too much trouble.

The dining room is lovely.
Very spacious and elegant and compliments the food perfectly.

I started off with the Confit duck. Full of flavour, moist yet very light,
My main was Braised Ox Cheek with medley of veg and horseradish mash.
Many people say about meat "it melts in the mouth" but in reality it doesn't.
This however was the most tender piece of meat I have ever had the privilege of eating.
You placed your fork into it and it broke away from the rest of the meat.
You put it in your mouth and it literally just melted away.

With whole hearted truth, the most beautiful dish I have ever tasted.

I then had cheeseboard to finish, which was a nice size.
All 3 courses, were just right size. Not too small, not too big, it was just right.

Breakfast;
Again, help yourself to fruit juice, cereals, youghurt, fruit whilst your cooked breakfast is being made.
Scrambled eggs on toast, 3 sausages for me.
The waitress remembered our drinks orders from the day before and was very attentive without being intrusive.

Thanks to this incredible experience and such helpful and friendly staff, this was a memorable and diamond event to which it was.
Thank you to everyone at the Kirklands for everything you did, we will be back very shortly.

Quick advise; whatever day you stay, you must try Anthonys omlettes, they are legendary!!

We wanted to say a big thank you to the owners of the Kirklands and all the staff for a fantastic weekend stay in Kinross. We were visiting for a family Christening with my parents and our little girl.
From start to finish the staff at the hotel were so attentive and always welcomed us with a smile.
Little touches like putting a small knife and fork out for our little girl at breakfast time was lovely. She certainly enjoyed her stay aswell!
Thank you for looking after us so well!

Went here with family, four adults and two children. Menu was good, food was on time and good quality. There was a rowdy group I for a big night but it didn't really affect our night. Front bar was also good for some nice cocktails. No complaints.

We went for dinner as 3 couples towards the end of November and had a great evening. We were looking for somewhere informal and cosy with good service and good food and this fitted the bill perfectly!
The menu has plenty of choice- a good mix of the expected classics along with some more imaginative dishes. Everything we ordered was delicious, well presented and thoroughly enjoyed. Generous portions too! The wine list was well priced with lots to choose from. The service was both friendly and professional-a big thankyou to the ladies who looked after us.
So full marks from us, and we hope to come back soon

Just popped in for a soft drink but was very impressed by the staff and surroundings. I have eaten Lunch here previously with colleagues and everyone enjoyed the food. Premises extends through the back into a large restaurant. I believe they have 8 rooms as well. Toilets were immaculate. Kinross is well served with good eating and drink establishments and this one maintains that high standard.
