We were recommended to The Lock and were certainly not disappointed. The menu was excellent with plenty of choices. The roast beef was superb with very generous portions. Dessert was too tempting to turn down and the stuffed baked apple with cinnamon ice cream was heavenly. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. I am gluten free and they were able to advise which dishes could be adapted.
We will certainly return as it is well with the 25 mile trip.

We had a fantastic evening at The Lock Bar. Scallops to start were tender and well cooked, fish for mains was very well presented and absolutely delicious. The dessert however stole the show for us. Chocolate cup with churros really exceptional. I was most impressed that throughout the hotel all drinks used paper straws. It shows a management in touch with what people want and a business that cares for the environment and our children's future.

We ate here as an alternative to the Leftbank restaurant whilst staying at the hotel. We found the choice was excellent and reasonably priced. We had the special soup (sweet potato and coconut) and the chowder followed by the special fish and Moroccan lamb. The latter was able to be served as a starter portion for the main course. The mains fish also included two sides. All food was top quality, really tasty. Good choice of wine.

Staff were attentive and we could see the chef was very hands on in the kitchen. Cost for 2 was £75. Would certainly eat here again

For the, the best option to dine at the Runnymede Hotel, even though both The Lock and The Left Bank are great options with a good cuisine. If you choose The Lock, the risotto or the duck are great options.
