The Balmer Lawn hotel is truly an amazing hotel… from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave nothing is too much trouble. You get a real feeling that the staff enjoy their jobs and feel very much a part of the team regardless of their position within the privately owned hotel.
Food amazing….
Customer service amazing.
We were in room 34 which looked our over the cricket pitch.
We were only there one night, and it f I could leave 4.999 stars I would. The only issue and it’s a minor minor issue is the shower pressure was slow low. Literally a dribble !
Without doubt though i could have said something and I am sure that the staff would have resolved any concerns. The only reason we didn’t mention it was we were only there one night. Thank you to all the staff at the amazing Balmer Lawn hotel.

Dear Dantheman_1950

What a lovely review, thank you so much for taking the time to comprehensively review your recent stay with us. We are very proud of our team, it is they that bring the hotel to life, your comments will be read with great pride by the entire team.

As always please remember to book directly with any independently owned hotel to ensure the best rate and room allocations, all the on-line agents achieve is to deprive owners of the commission they charge which could otherwise be invested into the fit and fabric of the building and facilities.

We stayed 4 days from 12th Sept and had a fantastic time. We visit at least once a year as the hotel is so welcoming in a wonderful location. We had room 31, a balcony room overlooking the green where we could watch the cricket match on the Sunday afternoon. Since our last visit the Lodge has been added which is a great addition. We ate there 4 nights and had different pizzas, a pasta dish and the sharing platter all of which were delicious. In the evening we thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a cocktail where there are many heaters and pretty lights. All the staff do their best to ensure they deliver a great service and they do. Igor, Ola and Lucy were brilliant. We have already booked for same time next year!

Room tip: room 31 has a balcony overlooking the green

What a truly wonderful review, the team members mentioned are all fantastic and will be delighted to read your thanks and comments. The Lodge has been a great addition and we have great plans for Halloween and following that the Ski Lodge will be returning for the winter. Hopefully Eddie the Eagle will be able to return to open it.

Thank you for your loyalty and we very much look forward to welcoming you back again next year.

As always, please remember to book directly with the hotel to secure the best rates and room allocations.

Stayed for business in September 2021. Hotel is in a gorgeous setting, I had a massive room on the 3rd floor at the front looking over the gardens, there were wild horses roaming which was lovely to look out and see. Free car parking and electric car charge points too. Didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on that but the restaurant looked nice. Friendly and helpful reception. The one negative is the room was extremely hot with just a small fan to help which was no use, so I didn’t sleep well at all. Won’t be a issue in the winter though. Also the room had a connecting door and I could hear clearly the person in the next room snoring all night, and on the phone, so the hotel could make these doors more soundproof.

Room tip: There are electric car charge points

Dear Leila249

Thank you for your feedback on this important travel forum. The interconnecting doors are double doors i.e. one each side but we will certainly look to see if we can improve the soundproofing. Pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and we hope to be able to welcome you back again in the near future.

We had a comfortable but smallish room. The bed was comfortable too,but could have done with some more pillows (forgot to ask). We had a nice view of the outside pool and grounds. The bathroom was adequate and clean, but the water pressure was low(we were on the top floor). We were very pleased with the lift.
We used the indoor pool and sauna, but the jacuzzi had broken down.We both had massages, which we enjoyed.
All breakfasts and evening meals were excellent and well cooked, but we had to request a change of evening menu,as it would have been the same for the four days we were there.Phil the head receptionist asked the chef and he kindly produced an alternative just for us,which delighted us.
In fact all the staff without exception were polite and attentive.

Dear billandjoodat101

Delighted to read that you enjoyed your recent stay with us. Although the menus are not as extensive as we would normally be running if we can we are always happy to oblige with a request for something different.

Please always remember to book directly with the hotel on your next visit for the best available rates and room allocations.

Pleased to read that Phil looked after you and facilitated with our Head Chef Ben a different menu choice.

Thank you for a great review.

Had an afternoon tea here on thursday 16th sept under name of Manning and all I can say is it was the perfect end to our short holiday in the new forest. The staff were exceptional and the afternoon tea was gorgeous. My wife and I will defo be coming back to stay in a dog freindly room in the very near future.I would say this hotel deserves its 4 star status easily, such a shame other hotels cant do the same.Sorry the picture shows a half eaten tea but it was so delish it had to be done lol.Congrats to the management team for having such a wonderful hotel and team
