lovely quiet little inn, with excellent hospitality, comfortable rooms and well cooked food with a couple of twists. Had planned just to use it for a bed for the night, as I needed to be in the area. But saw the reviews and thought the good lady could benefit from a night away from home - and I got the benefit of her company for the 2.5 hour each way drive. Really pleasant dinner, with vegetables cooked just the way we like them (crisp and flavoursome), interesting starters and mains with a couple of really interesting orders alongside the usual suspects. A good pint and a comfy bed set us up for a full English, which again was faultless.

Room Tip: Room 2 has a nice view of the church and a field with horses

Super menu super atmosphere super staff. The owner is a farmer who rears his own sheep. The lamb on the menu changes regularly depending on the cuts available . It was Lamb Henry on the evening we went! Lamb is my favourite meat and this time it didn't fail to please!!!! It was tender and very very tasty!

Room Tip: We went for a meal not to stay over!

The hotel had some favourable reviews so booked based on these.

Set in a very quite village about a mile from the main road. Generous carpark next to the hotel. Greeted warmly by Zoe who showed us up to our room - which was fabulous. Good size bathroom, Hugh bed and well decorated room which was very comfortable. When we met Ian he too was very welcoming and easy to get on with.

Breakfast next morning was spot on and would definitely stay here again!

We chanced upon this gem for Saturday lunch. The decor is gorgeous, the host is attentive and knowledgeable, the food is amazing and the toilets were fantastic - none of these could be bettered. 10/10 all round. There was an extensive menu, but we settled on the lamb meatballs with rice and salad as a main meal - it was also avaialable as a starter, along with such gems as "black pudding, blue cheese and deep fried egg".

Having enjoyed lunch here recently we booked for a family get together and had a fabulous meal with the benefit of a dining room all to ourselves.
Ian and Zoe the owners were wonderfull hosts and did an excellent job of looking after us.
Nothing was too much trouble and the food, starter , mains and puddings were delicious.
Good choices on the menu for most tastes, and tasty it was.
Fabulous atmosphere in this great country pub. Will be back soon, and big thanks Ian/Zoe and staff, it was appreciated.
