Was getting late, and had not eaten since breakfast. We found this tapas bar, it had a special offer on £24 pound for tapas and a bottle of wine red or white for two people. Very nice. Staff very friendly and informative. Would go again. H Simpson

When you walk past Fat Olives it doesn't look like much but take a chance as the food is great. We were surprised by the variety and quality of food on offer. The chefs do a wonderful job putting great combinations together to make delicious meals. Check the specials board as we ordered off there and were so happy with our choices. The staff are friendly and helpful, there's no rushing or hassle with your meal. Just great food in a lovely little restaurant. I would definitely recommend this for dinner over other places we tried. Give it a go you will enjoy it!

We have been coming to the lakes for many years, and ate at most restaurants. Without a doubt our favourite for exceptional food, (thanks to Adam) and fantastic personal friendly service from all the staff, especially juliana who always makes your visit very special. If you have not yet ate at Fat olives it is a first class recommendation.

Visiting for a short break, we love Italian food and made a bee line for the highest rated Italian in the area. Firstly this is no Italian, when there are more burgers on the menu than pasta dishes that says it all.

Determined to have a pasta dish I had the chicken and sun blushed tomato pen pasta (this was as good as it got in the pasta section, even lasagne was included in the pasta section).

The pasta arrived accompanied with a side of tomato cheese and garlic bruschetta, the pasta was a disaster from the get go, no restaurant claiming to be an Italian should serve packaged Pasta it should be fresh! As for flavour, I failed to find any!

Then comes the chicken what there was of it, was dry and seemed like it had been prepped long before.

The bruschetta which was topped with tomato apparently, it was very very sweet making it sharp to taste.

Then the bill arrives and you are expected to pay top quality prices for what can only be described as average at best, Italian lovers beware!!

The only reason it gets three stars as opposed to two is the little waitress was great.

Like Italian food look elsewhere!

Thank you for your review. Firstly can I just say WE ARE NOT AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT! We never claimed to be. We are English and Mediterranean. We state this quite clearly all over the place. Secondly three burgers and six pastas. I'm no mathematical genius but..... Thirdly, Lasagne IS pasta. What do you think it is made from? You could have chosen a non-pasta dish from our extensive ENGLISH and MEDITERRANEAN menu or one of our delicious Specials from the board. Our Chicken Pesto Pasta is one of our biggest sellers. It is made with our homemade Tomato and Ricotta Pesto and cooked freshly to order. No we don't hand make our pasta, but I think you would struggle to find many Italian Restaurants who do. You must have ordered the Bruschetta separately as it is not included in the price. It states quite clearly that it is made with our homemade tomato chutney. I am puzzled that something being sweet could make it taste sharp? We are not a classic Italian restaurant, all our dishes are our interpretation of various mediterranean and british dishes. All our pasta, risottos, salads and burgers are £8.95 before 7pm. After 7pm it is a very reasonable £12.95 hardly top dollar! I am sorry you did not enjoy your meal

We had a girly weekend away in the Lakes, and we came here on our final night for the cinema and 2 course meal deal.
The cinema ticket itself is usually £7, so really you're only paying £14 for a 2 course meal.
Everyone's food was amazing, we had a variety of different dishes from pasta, steak and burgers.
Dessert was amazing, and by the end we were very very full and nearly bursting at the seams!
As well as the menu for the meal deal offer, we also ordered bits and bobs from the main menu to, which was great as we had a look at what we'd have on our next visit.
Next time we visit the Lakes, we'll be sure to return here.
