My wife and I have been staying in Bowness over the last 47 years mainly to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. We stayed here about four years ago and because of its position (Very close the Hole 'ith Wall pub) its car parking and views of the Lake we decided to try it again for two nignts.
The business had changed ownership and was now in the very capable hands of David and Deborah Williams. We stayed on Room 9 at the top of the house. It had just been refurbished and was top notch. David and Deborah are working their way through the rooms and where necessary bringing them right up to date.
We had some great chats over a freshly cooked and delicious breakfasts. Their knowledge of eateries around the area is extensive, don't be afraid to ask.
Whilst there are plenty of places to choose from in Bowness I doubt you will find one better positioned than this one.

Room Tip: We gad Room 9 Just had a refurb. and has great views of the Lake.

What a great find...we stayed for 2 nights as a family of 4 at the end of Oct, we were attending a wedding in Troutbeck. We stayed in 2 rooms, 2 and 7, both with spectacular views overlooking the Lake. The rooms were lovely, very clean, you can climatise the room to your liking. Huge window and radiator with a thermostat. Beds very comfy we all slept very well. One thing to mention neither of our rooms had been upgraded, the rooms were lovely, well maintained, very clean, good decor, do not be put off by the small ensuites they reminded us of cruise bathrooms, plastic pods with lots of hot water. The upgraded rooms are fabulous David is working hard transforming the lovely building one room at a time. Breakfast was tasty with lots of choice, I particularly liked the muesli with yoghurt delicious. Location location location perfect the Lake is a 5 min walk away, a pub literally just around the corner Hole in t'wall serving good pub food with very nice local ales. Hosts David and a Deborah were very friendly and welcoming. If you need to know anything about the Lakes just ask David. Thank you for a great couple of days

Had a lovely weekend away at New Hall Bank. The owners David and Deborah were very welcoming. The rooms were decorated beautifully and very comfortable. We overlooked the lake.
We came down in the morning to a full English breakfast, choices of juices, yogurts, cereals and pastries and then came the plateful of bacon, sausage, egg (2 if you want), etc coffee, tea and toast. What could be better? (Oh yes, with a view yet again).

Room Tip: The rooms with the lake views are gorgeous.

Great service in a nice, simple old fashioned B&B. Rooms are quite big in size, toilets rather small depending on the room. Ask for a room with a lake view. They do a nice, basic, hot breakfast. The location is great, walking distance to many of the things to do in Bowness.

We stayed for 2 nights at this place. Lovely location and right in middle of town centre. Within walking and driving diatane of aome beautiful places. Amazing view of the lake from our room. They are in process of updating all the rooms and they will be great when it's finished. Good breakfast and were happy to meet our requests. Would stay again as would like to see when rooms have been revamped.
