Another fantastic four day break at one of our favourite 'Brend' Hotels. We were able to stay in Room 205, our choice. Which looks out over the River at the front of the Hotel. The overall quality of the Staff, at Reception, Dinning and Bar area's, never seems to change, led I'm sure by the Management. The Hotel alway's seems fully booked, as it was when we were there. Just wished we could have stayed longer. Talking to other Guests, it would appear that the majority of returned visits, are very much the results of not just loyalty, but the overall feeling and pleasure that the Imperial Hotel always offers.

Room Tip: Front Superior Rooms, over looking the River

Just back from a surprise one night ' birthday surprise' visit. We have stayed here on several occasions over the years but not in recent times.I have to say that if anything has changed then it is for the better, other than the fact that Helen Challacombe is no longer the manager, she was brilliant. In common with every Brend hotel we have stayed at, the Imperial staff are great, the decor throughout all the public areas is splendid and we found the standard of food at both dinner and breakfast exceptional.I can't honestly say our room was anything more than average, the main problem was the heating situation. We checked in at around 1445 and went to our room, there WAS no heating and given that we were almost into December it was unpleasantly chilly.Upon pointing this out to Reception they quickly despatched a ( very small ) heater to the room and did inform me that the central heating did not come on until 1500hrs.We then spent the next hour hanging around in the lounge until the room had warmed up,I do feel that rooms should be warm and welcoming during winter months upon check-in.We enjoyed a pleasant bar snack at the Royal and Fortesque, again Brend Hotels have got it just right, and as we checked out the following morning we were delighted to bump into none other than Mathew Restrick, now that WAS a pleasant surprise.Overall a most enjoyable visit.

Room Tip: Ask about the heating!

We have just got back to reality after spending three nights. Food is exceptional, service is second to none. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only downside is that the bathroom needed updating for a luxury room it was a bit tired. This is our third visit, looking forward to our next already.
