Our overnight stay here was excellent and we would definitely recommend it. The high standards and attention to detail make it stand out.
We stayed in room 101 at the front, which is very spacious and has great views over the grounds. It was (like the rest of the hotel) spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The fact that any (complimentary) tea or coffee is made fresh and brought to the room is a lovely touch.
The food served at dinner was delicious albeit fairly expensive. It isn’t stated on the menu but the dishes are ordered tapas style i.e. a few per person. There’s a wide range of drinks to have though it would be nice to see cocktails added.
Breakfast the next morning was good although the continental option had a few items missing compared to what was detailed on the menu. In the cold weather we appreciated having the log fires lit to add extra warmth and atmosphere.
At the time we stayed, the spa was under construction but it will, surely, add a touch of luxury and be something to do onsite.
A big credit to the hotel is the staff. They are polite and professional all round; it’s refreshing to get service with a smile.More
