My parents and I stayed at Varley House for 4 nights. I would definitely recommend staying, the breakfast was well cooked and tasty, the hotel is spotless and both Rod and Helen are great hosts. Rod is happy to recommend places to eat and visit.
As a frequent female solo traveller, I would be happy to stay at Varley House on my own and feel safe and comfortable.

We stayed for 1 night en route to Lundy. Very clean, quiet and comfortable with a delicious breakfast, plenty of free parking and a well designed, spacious lounge to relax in. The owners are friendly and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

The host was very welcoming.
The room was immaculate with a walk in shower in the en suite.
The whole establishment is incredibly clean and tidy.
The bed was very comfortable.
The breakfast was excellent,they even went out of their way to cook me scrambled egg on toast.

We have been staying at Varley House for many years as it is the perfect place to stop before and after a trip to Lundy. Hospitable hosts, clean and modern rooms and bathrooms and a tasty breakfast all at great value. The harbour and town centre is a relaxing walk away. Would highly recommend.

A lovely comfy B&B with wonderful hosts. Always a pleasure to stay here, AND the breakfasts are lovely. We were off to Lundy Island so it is always nice to stay here beforehand. We are allowed to leave our cars here too which is amazing. Nice rooms with comfy beds and nice bathrooms.
