What a wonderful place! Rod is a fantastic host, very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and spacious, with lovely views. The cooked breakfast was delicious. Location is spot on, you can walk down to the harbour in 10 minutes (make it 15 for the way back, as the last bit will be a bit steep, but that gives you the fantastic views). We'll definitely be back!

Excellent stay

A lovely accommodation in Ilfracombe with excellent breakfast ( a lot of choices ).
Very quiet. easy and short walk to Ilfracombe Harbour. We had a double room with great sea view for two nights, everything was very clean . Thanks a lot to the hosts.

Friendly and convenient

We stayed here on our way to Lundy and the night we got back.
Comfortable and clean room, bathroom extremely clean with a good shower.
Lovely breakfast and good range of options, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, full English and more.
Would recommend and will stay again if we visit Lundy.

Room tip: Parking available.

Great time at Varley House

My parents and I stayed at Varley House for 4 nights. I would definitely recommend staying, the breakfast was well cooked and tasty, the hotel is spotless and both Rod and Helen are great hosts. Rod is happy to recommend places to eat and visit.

As a frequent female solo traveller, I would be happy to stay at Varley House on my own and feel safe and comfortable.

Great place to stay in Ilfracombe

We stayed for 1 night en route to Lundy. Very clean, quiet and comfortable with a delicious breakfast, plenty of free parking and a well designed, spacious lounge to relax in. The owners are friendly and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Room tip: Some rooms have a sea view so ask for one of those.

Exceptional

Stayed here for 1 night.
The host was very welcoming.
The room was immaculate with a walk in shower in the en suite.
The whole establishment is incredibly clean and tidy.
The bed was very comfortable.
The breakfast was excellent,they even went out of their way to cook me scrambled egg on toast.
Thank you for a pleasant stay.
If your going to Ilfracombe I can’t recommend this hotel enough
