Just called in, no booking, but the young lady offered us seats at the bar as all the tables were reserved. What a lovely space to spend an hour (or several) Beautiful decor, all the furnishings, the glasses, the cutlery etc were all high spec. The whole place was immaculate, and very Covid safe with hand sanitiser in abundance and screens to separate the tables. The loos were also really well fitted out and extremely clean.
We weren't intending to eat there (we were actually going to get a takeaway) but the mixed platter on the menu caught our eyes...absolutely delicious, excellent cheeses, meats, bread, crackers, olives etc. Great value for money too as all top quality produce (Garstang Blue is my favourite cheese!) The staff and owners were very pleasant and polite, really enjoyed our visit. I'm sure a return visit won't be far away!

After a long walk down the prom we popped in for a bite to eat. The staff were welcoming and very attentive throughout. The food was to die for. A choice of four cheeses from a list of 8 and all the four i had were delicious and a few unusual like charcoal cheddar! After our cheese platters, teas and coffees and a couple of cheeky glasses of Rose we were fully restored. As oasis of calm in busy Morecambe.

My friends and I had been looking forward to visiting Brittlestar since it opened and finally had the opportunity before going for dinner. We booked a table for drinks on a Friday night at 7pm and when we arrived it was quite quiet with just the outside tables taken as it was a lovely evening. Our table was wiped down and then we were seated. We ordered a bottle of prosecco which came well served with lovely flutes and blueberries. All started to go wrong when a party of young clearly drunk girls arrived, who didn't wear masks, were staggering all over the bar including into our chairs, shouting and squealing so we could hardly her each other, and then continued to spend ages taking instagram worthy photos of each other which meant they were spread out all over the bar, again without masks and not bothered about social distancing. The additional concerning thing was that not only did the manager not discourage the behaviour but was actively encouraging them. We quickly tried to leave and asked for the bill which didn't come so in the end we went to the bar and paid just so we could get out the situation. I'm by no means a fun spoiler but when you're trying to be vigilant about covid guidelines especially in a venue that's only just allowed to be reopened you would think the management would have a similar attitude.

Hi, I’m one of the business owners of the Brittlestar and I really sorry that you felt un safe in our venue, I can assure that we take safety of our visitors highly and are one of the only bars in the area that have screens up between seating and all of our staff wear masks unlike a lot of other venues. We take your complaint seriously and will check thorough CCTV to see if we can learn from the experience, apologies again and we would welcome the chance to make sure your next visit is to your satisfaction.
