We stayed in late June in Room #1 on the first floor above ground, facing the back for 3 nights. It was very quiet, even with the windows open. Parking is unusual, with having to back out onto a street, but works well with a guide. Jacqui has beautiful flower boxes. The bedroom is small, but arranged relatively well with twin beds, a desk, and two night stands. We used the floor of the closet for one suitcase, and between the beds for the other. The beds were very comfortable – firm, but comfortable. The curtains provided for a dark room. The bathroom was also well arranged with shelf space on the wall for our items. The towels were very thick and the water was hot. The sink was small, but it worked.
Breakfast was at a common table, but the other occupants ate earlier than we did except for one morning. We enjoy eating at a common table and visiting with the other guests. It was a good breakfast with the normal buffet items and then a hot dish of eggs and whatever you wanted with them.
The location was convenient for us, since we wanted to stay OUT of Belfast. The Bramble Lodge is only a 7 minute walk to the train station and about 10 minutes walking to downtown Bangor for restaurants. It is in an obvious location, but hard to see when driving the roundabout and intersecting roads. We usually park and one person walks and asks to be pointed to the specific building. It worked.
Jacqui was very welcoming and friendly. She made some suggestions for sightseeing and had a train schedule to loan us. She was very efficient and practical and helpful. We would stay again.

We stayed for a couple of days in may to attend a wedding and had the most wonderful time in Bramble Lodge. The rooms are lovely (and very clean), the breakfast is superb and Jaqcui was a delightful host, providing us not only with the best food (fresh, homemade bread every morning!) but also with ideas where to go and what to do around town.
We loved it so much that we decided to stay a day longer than planned - which was no problem at all (we could even stay in the same room).
Thank you for making us feel at home - we will definately be coming back soon.

Stayed here for a couple of days for a family do. Love the location, not far from the train & bus station and the center of the town. The hosts Clem & Jacqui keep the B&B in tip top shape. Nice rooms and breakfast was a great selection of the traditional and more modern fair offered as well. Rates where good for what's on offer. Recommend.

Bramble Lodge was an excellent place to stay with great facilities.
The location was very central to the town and the train station.
Breakfasts were freshly made with local produce by the Jackie and Clem, husband and wife team who were great hosts.

We have just checked out of Bramble Lodge after a lovely weekend. We tried to book a guest house down the road but it was full and so we were recommended this place. It is a big old house with high ceilings only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Jacqui was really welcoming and lovely. Our twin room was great - warm and cosy with very comfy beds. There was a choice of firm or soft pillows and there was even a hot water bottle in the drawer. The en suite was small but had everything we needed, including a nice hot shower. Tea and coffee facilities and a TV are also in the room. We even got extra biscuits when we arrived. The breakfast was amazing here. There is loads of choice including fresh fruit, local yoghurt, homemade bread and jam to start, and then you can have a proper fried breakfast, poached eggs, omelettes etc. We didn't need any lunch after all of that. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
