Just came back from a wonderful 10 days at this hotel of which we were a party of 4 couples from Wales.
Rooms, which were cleaned every day without fail were more than adequate, and unusually ( in my experience ) the beds were very comfortable so slept well throughout and noticed no noise from any other guests.
Food, breakfast there were choices each day of a different egg dish along with the usual bacon / sausages / beans plus healthy choices of fruit and yoghurt - lunch and evening meals usually had at least 4 or 5 choices of a main ingredient in 2 or 3 meat dishes, and a fish dish along with salads and vegetables so always a good choice and the Chinese night in particular was delicious, for desert there were always 3 options of cakes plus jellies or a custard dish and ice creams, so whilst we went out a couple of times, for a change of scenery there was always enough food of good quality so would be amazed if there wasn't something to suit anyone - one point to note, is they don't do chips but do an amazing array of roast potatoe dishes instead although fries were available in the pool snack bar should you need them.
Pools - 2 lovely pool areas but the main attraction is the natural sea pool areas where the beach bar is located - this really does set the hotel apart from anything else in its class and is an amazing setting - we even witnessed a wedding there one day which didn't interfere too much with the holiday.
There was no sunbed 6 am rush required, even when the hotel was full towards the end of our break, but admit we went down about 0730 each day but we wanted a spot by the sea pool altogether as a group but if you were a couple there were always beds available if you came down about 9 am.
Drinks were the usual on AI and although finished at 23:00 each night was always enough.
Staff - always around, and very hard working, but they made the effort to interact with gusts and are a credit to the hotel under the exceptional leadership of the manager Andreas who makes every effort to mix with every guest to make them feel special and can see why people return again and again. Hopefully andreas you will find time to get that matchless bike fully restored sometime soon and can show it us when we return ( even if you do like the wrong team in Manchester - enjoy London in November as well and don't forget a jumper )

So in summary, brilliant location, facilities and above all a team of staff that will do everything to make your holiday a fantastic one.
We hope to come back and join the returners cocktail party

Thanks again from all 8 of us

Neil

I spent a lot of time deciding on a rating for this hotel. I have compared the experience against similar holidays in Crete and Corfu in recent years that received 5 star reviews. I came to the conclusion that 3 stars was the correct rating. There is no doubt that this hotel has some fantastic attributes, most notably the location. I am also aware that the Cynthiana has a loyal clientele that return year after year.

There are, however, many aspects that could do with improvement. We spent 10 days there on a bed & breakfast basis. After 4 or 5 days I was praying for some variety in the breakfast but it was not to be. I know from discussions with fellow guests that this is a common concern. It appears to be a problem for those on “all inclusive” also and could easily be addressed by the hotel. I only had dinner in the hotel on one occasion and while there quantity of food available on the buffet was fine, the quality was distinctly average.

Previous reviewers have praised the approach of the staff in the hotel. Again, as a frequent traveler to Greece, in particular, I found the bulk of the staff to be very efficient, but not overly friendly in their approach.

This could be a great hotel, particularly when the upgrade has been completed.

Hoe the management can accept a dose of honest, constructive criticism!

Dear valued guests of the Cynthiana Beach Hotel.
Thank you for choosing to spend your last holiday with us and I can accept honest and constructive criticism. However I must stress the point that every hotel in every country is different in every way. If you have thought a lot to rate us with 3 stars, that is fine. We accept it.
Regarding breakfast, its a common practice for all hotels in the city of Paphos and not only to offer same breakfast on a daily basis, since its buffet style and there are cold and hot items as well as whatever is needed for a three star hotel, guests can choose. Regarding your point on all inclusive guests, not all of them are concerned or rely one hundred per cent on breakfast but rather look at this option as whole, meaning drinks are included, families do not need to worry about soft drinks and ice cream and see a large tab at the end of their holiday and would like to have a worry free holiday atmosphere.
Hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again and have the chance to offer our Cypriot hospitality.

Kind regards from all of us

We are staying here for 2 weeks and only 4 days left, but want to review now as it is a wonderful place, first impression is reception and they were so efficient and , shown to our room by a wonderful man. The location is amazing, the private beach is 50 meters from our room. The view is spectacular, especially at sunset, the food is also wonderful and at €24 for evening dinner is great value, it’s buffet but really good, with great choices. The breakfast is included and also huge selection to suit all taste. The rooms are cleaned every day, towels changed, beds made, floors mopped, by a friendly lovely woman. The pools are spotless although we never used, prefer the sea. The little cove is perfect for children or not so confident swimmers, more adventurous can head out in the waves and some wonderful snorkelling. But most of all the staff are the real plus for this hotel absolutely brilliant, fun, and I try to speak Greek with them and they loved that I try. I’ll be remembered as the mad Irish man lol

We had a lovely time here! Room was fab and perfect for our family, in the main hotel and a separate room for the children which made it more pleasant for us sleeping at night.

Customer service on booking was fab (directly through the hotel). Breakfast was nice and tasty and really pleasant to sit outside without lots of cigarette smoke. We enjoyed the drinks and snack bar.
The beach was lush!

Highly recommend for a short break at a cheap price.

Would love to come back!
