We ate here on a Thursday night. The weather was glorious so we sat outside. The outside space has had a makeover with new dining huts installed, I guess these are great in poorer weather, but the issue is they have reduced the number of tables that benefit from the summer evening sun.
The food was as you would expect at Hickory’s pretty decent taste and quality if not the largest portions.
The reason from my relative low rating was due to the staff. In the past we have always experienced good energetic service, this was not the case on this occasion. There was plenty of staff, but most were wandering round in a trans, a complete leathery in the service. We ordered another round of drinks, they were not forthcoming so I asked one of the servers if they were coming, suggesting we had probably been waiting 10 mins, she then brought them to our table saying ‘it was actually 15 mins’. The place felt as if it needed an injection of energy, at least in the outside area where we were sat.
