We initially planned to stay for 5 nights, but ended up leaving after the first.
The room itself was basic, but spacious and clean. However, first impressions were not good. The area was not maintained very well, with overgrowing grass, seemingly abandoned and decaying buildings, and the cleaning staff wheeling things around in a shopping trolley (not something you would expect from £120 a night).
But the staff were by far the biggest issue. As soon as you raised any problem (such as missing towels in the bedroom, or a dysfunctional card terminal), they became hostile and unpleasant.
The turning point however came when, when our dog did a poo. Having put it into a bag and into a bin, we thought nothing more of it until about 5 minutes later, when the hotel manager came screaming at us in front of the other residents, holding the bag in her hand, asking us whether we are stupid for putting the poo in a bin.
When we pointed out that screaming at a customer and calling them stupid is not good service, the manager became even more mad, screaming ‘Thank you! Thank you customer!’ before calling us something along the lines of ‘stupid German tourists’ to the other staff. We left at the earliest opportunity.More
