This is my second time visiting Antigua, Guatemala and each time I go, I make sure to book my spa treatments at Santa teresita spa! The chocolate & coffee scrub is the BEST! The staff is friendly and my masseuse Jelisa was awesome!

I was at santa teresita hotel and spa in Guatemala on 12.03.19 with my husband. We are here on vacation and witness a 5 year old boy drown in the playa termal which is a family area for kids. This place does not provide any lifeguards well they are there but they don't pay attention to the kids. This place lacks education on what to do in case of an emergency. No staff ran to provide CPR to the child. My husband and I did CPR on this child until the ambulance came. They had 1 nurse in this facility and she got there and did nothing just said keep doing cpr and just stood there. No staff offered help. We tried to talk the manager to complain about the staff lack of experience and he ignored us his name is Jorge. He went to lock himself in his office and completely ignored us. He was so rude. Also don't believe all the reviews because I posted this in their Facebook and they took off the bad reviews. I saw another person post regarding this accident and also witnessed the accident and how bad their staff was during this situation and they also deleted that review. Just know if you take your kids they will do nothing to help your child in an emergency. They are so awful that they did not want to take responsibility for the accident and help the parents of this poor child that was in critical condition. His mom came back to say thanks to me and my husband for what we did. The santa teresita did not even want talk to the mother of the child and her family that just makes me mad. We asked personal why did they not help us with child and they said their staff was new just 4 months on the job and were in shock. Like this child could have died you cant really be in shock in those situations. They seriously need to set up drills to prepare their staff better. I would not trust them with anyone in an emergency situation. They even had the nerve to say that there are signs posted that they are not responsible. They were so heartless during this situation. It was my first time and last time there.

Thankfully the child survived and is back to his normal self because my husband and I helped him. I thank god we were there for that child. 🙏

My boyfriend and I booked a tour through a local agency in Antigua that included the Volcán Pacaya hike in the morning and Santa Teresita Spa in the afternoon. After the hike, the Santa Teresita shuttle bus was waiting for us and took us to the spa as expected. The driver helped us check in, got us towels, and took us to the restaurant so we could buy some lunch. We didn’t get any further instructions so after we enjoyed our meals, we leisurely tried out all the pools in the thermal circuit and then relaxed on some of the chairs. This is when a polite staff member came to give us goodie bags and told us the shuttle was taking us back in ten minutes at 3:30PM. When we informed her that the tour agency told us we would be staying until 5:00PM, she quickly made sure that was able to happen. And when we asked her about the other items included in our package, she directed us to the right people. Our package included a massage so when we went to the massage area, a phone call had to be made to verify we purchased and then arrangements were made.

Overall, we are glad we visited the spa but it was not the seamless experience we were expecting. We didn’t like that we had to ask for the things we had already paid for. The staff were all very accommodating and in the end we got everything in our package.

We went here after a hard volcano hike earlier in the day. This place consists of several pools of various temperatures that you rotate to every 10 minutes from hot to cold, cold to hot, etc. Our experience also included a smoothie to enjoy in the pools as well which tasted great. The restaurant in the hotel was fantastic too! Your body will absolutely love the relaxed and refreshed feeling it gets that these pools give by soaking in them. Make sure to wear sandals or water shoes if you have sensitive feet because the pavement does get pretty hot! The staff overall were wonderful!
