We loved this resort, it has beautiful views, accommodation and the food is lovely. The only thing is most of the restaurants didn't open until our kids were in bed after 7pm. The staff were friendly and helpful and the Scott Dunn Kids club was second to none. The 3 swimming pools really were excellent and each had a bar but didn't serve food. Whilst it was nice not to have food (and the accompanying flies and bugs it sometimes brings) at the pools it would have been nice to be able to get a light lunch by the pool.
As the resort is build on a cliff side the stairs are not for the faint hearted and not good for buggies as you have to take the long way round. We didn't have a buggy but have young children who huffed and puffed up the steps in the heat. (it was very hot for june).
Whilst the kids club is excellent (we used scott dunn) the outdoor play area would be better if it has a substantial sun shade over it as it was too hot to use every day. The childcare assistants said they had asked the hotel numerous times to install this but to no avail. Really no point in having this area in a hot country if children cannot use it.
The apartments are beautifully decorated and sea views are stunning.

The resort is located on the main coast road with no easy access to local amenities (you would have to get a taxi or drive). The shop was also handy but could have stocked a little more essentials like pasta sauce and stuff to suit kids. We found our kids were too tired to eat out some nights at 3 and 5 its long day in the sun! Would love to come back. The resort is so close to all the beautiful coastal islands and Dubrovnik their is plenty to see and do.

The staff and the surrounding is astonishing. But as we went off-season the shops were closed, most of the restaurants as well and some of the pools. The apartments are not 5-Star, but are rented from owners, which can not catch up with a 5-Star price and hotel.

Dear Joerg,
Thank you for your review of your recent stay at our Sun Gardens Dubrovnik.
We appreciate your nice comments for our surroundings and especially our staff but we are sorry you didn’t found the number of our facilities available sufficient. We do make sure we adjust them with the time of the season, occupancy and rates but we apologize if the ones available were not satisfactory and caused inconveniences for you.
We hope that you still enjoyed your stay in general and it would make us happy if you would come back, maybe in the summer season, so you can have the opportunity to experience everything our resort has to offer and we can reassure you about our quality.
Looking forward to welcoming you again.
Sincere regards,

The hotel has a great location directly on the coast .The rooms are well designed , modern, clean and stocked . Our rooms were sea facing allowing the fantastic daily sunset views, you can also enjoy these views from the reception and lobby balcony. Breakfast is excellent with a good selection of cereals, fruit salads, omlette , cheeses and pastries.
The swimming pool and spa provide relaxing environment of high quality.
The only room for improvement is the food served in the bar area restaurant which we tried on two occasions; my pasta was half cold half warm with a small piece of metal wire ( I did not report it as I did not want to spoil the evening ), the rest of the family also reported that the food was cold. The food is generally too salty
It is best to book the airport transfer through British Airways as it is more than £10 cheaper than booking it through the hotel shuttle service.

Location was very good for our family of 5 looking to get away from the city life. The hotel property is set right on the ocean with 3 outdoor pools, an indoor pool and a rocky beach area. The kids all enjoyed the pools and beaches.

The hotel room was underwhelming. The beds were not comfortable and seem broken down after a lot of use. There were 3 bathrooms which was nice, but the master bathroom smelled terribly of septic. Maintenance unsuccessfully tried to address during the week.

The food was average to below average. The restaurants onsite were all running on limited staff. The service was good, but the food was not the best quality. We ran out of options after 3 nights and decided to eat off site for the remainder of the week. The breakfast was a typical buffet style, but the options did not vary from day to day. A variety of options were available and the food was all well prepared.

The outdoor center was a good spot for the kids. There was tennis, wall climbing and a soccer field for the kids to enjoy. This was one of the highlights of the week and the facilities were well maintained. The staff was very friendly and there was a nominal fee for any activities requiring additional equipment (wall climbing, tennis, squash).

Overall, I would rate this hotel in the middle. We would opt to explore other hotels before we would return.

Dear George,
Thank you for choosing our Sun Gardens for your family vacation this summer and for taking your personal time to share your experience with us.
We value your nice words for our pools and beach, sports facilities and staff. Also, thank you for recognizing our location perfect to get away from the city life.
Please accept our apologies for the inconveniences you had in your bathroom. As for the beds we must admit we were saddened to read you didn’t found them comfortable as we usually get only great guest feedback on their comfort.
Once again we thank you for all of your nice words but also for suggestions of slight improvements. Your comments are shared with all department heads so they can review and take appropriate measures where necessary.
It would make us happy if you still decide to stay with us again so we can welcome you back and provide you with a perfect family holiday.

Dubrovnik is very beautiful and we we lodged in rooms with the most perfect view do the sea. The sunsets were glorious as was the standard view from our room during the day. The Room was comfortable and well furnished and the service was very good. I will certainly be coming back here.
