Well worth a visit. Allow 45 mins to see it all - a beautiful little harbour with nice ‘individual’ shops, galleries, and cafes. Some local pop-up venders selling local crafts add to the experience

We went to Charlestown twice whilst on holiday. A lovely small little harbour. What made us go back was a little place called HBQ they serve drinks as food. The food was amazing good sized portions and tasted amazing.

Would highly recommend

Charlestown is an extremely special place and ever changing/evolving. There's much to see and do here, so a popular place to hang out. It is well looked after by Matt the Harbour Master and his team.
I was lucky enough to go on one of the Tall ship excursions yesterday with my friend. The weather was 'proper' Cornish, all seasons in one day, but thankfully the trip wasnt cancelled.
We boarded Anny for 6 fabulous hours. The 3 man crew, 'Phil, Alex and Robbie', were all absolutely wonderful, highly knowledgable and professional, letting you interact as much or as little as you wanted to on the ship. Alex made us a mean mac 'n' cheese for lunch too, from scratch in the cute cabin kitchen.
Our trip took the route near the Gwineas Rocks, so we journeyed along the coast up to Gorran Haven and Port Mellon.
Captain Phil anchored outside the harbour to Mevagissey, the sun had come out by then and it was so lovely to sit and admire the views from an different angle (ie the ocean).
On the way back Anny really got a chance to sail, as the wind conditions were good and so she flew us along to the other side of ST Austell bay, back past Pentewan, Black Head, Porthpean, Duporth, Charlestown, Carlyon, Par etc. Its an amazing sight to behold the dominating 'China slip pyramid' over ST Austell, it may not be Eygpt but it is certainly a historic landmark that Cornwall should be proud of.
I'd throughly recommend booking a trip on one of the sailing boats. They have lots of different options, you just need to contact Jess at Charlestown Harbour who is really helpful.
Thankyou all so much, we will definately be booking again!

Charlestown Harbour is a nice place to visit, and have a stroll around the harbour with its collection of old ships. There are plenty of places to stop for a drink or something to eat.
