The location is excellent--not sea front, but it's just down the street from the beach, promenade, shops, and restaurants. The price was good.

The friendly staff had our room ready, even on early arrival--very nice! The hotel has a lift/elevator.

Our room was large enough, and very basic, but clean. It had a mini-fridge and balcony. The air conditioning worked very well. There were power outlets at each nightstand--great for charging phones and devices at bedside. The bed was hard, not comfortable. There were non-feather pillows--great for allergy sufferers.

The bathroom had a shower/tub combo with scarcely any mold--good job, housekeeping! The shower water pressure was good and the hot water stayed hot. There's a one-speed hair dryer mounted on the wall. The bathroom is bright, well lit.

The strangest daily sight at the front desk was all the keys left out, lined up in front on the desk, often unattended. Maybe I'm too much of a skeptic, but doesn't that allow anyone at all to enter your room and have a look?

The free WiFi was strong. The hotel has a small open-air parking lot behind the hotel; they keep your car keys since they need to block park cars and double up in the small space. It works!

How wonderful to enter a place as a stranger but then feel like family by the time you leave. This is how the Galtieri family and the staff deliver service at the Hotel Aida. The Hotel is a 2 minute walk to the clean, tranquil sea where there are lovely restaurants and shops along the way and cabanas, beach chairs and umbrellas set up for rental. Hotel Aida is a small hotel, lovely rooms with either balconies or terraces. The hotel serves 3 meals a day - the food is superb - better than even your Italian grandmother's Sunday dinners. As for Alassio itself, it is a beautiful, accessible, friendly town. We went at the end of September when the weather was perfect so we spent a lot of time on the beach instead of sightseeing. However, we did go up the mountains to visit the beautiful Villa della Pergola and the beautiful 1000 year old Santa de la Croce church. Nearby towns of Laigueila, Albenga, are worth a visit. Day trips can be made to Nice, Monte Carlo, Genoa. At the end of the day, while Alassio is wonderful, it was the lovely people at Hotel Aida who made the difference for us. We would DEFINITELY return.

Room Tip: Two rooms have extremely large terraces. Try to grab one.

I booked the hotel by phone and the manager was so trusting he didnt even want a deposit. We booked 2 rooms and ended up with an appartement and another 2 rooms with an ajoining bathroom. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I will certainly return

I have been to the Hotel Aida many times, and it will always have a special place in my heart. Visiting Alassio is like visiting the real Italy...not the tourist Italy (which most of the larger cities like Florence, Venice, Rome, et al have become). When you visit the Hotel Aida, you feel like you are staying with your long lost Italian family, the Galtieris - Giovanni, Angelo, Luca and their mother Francesa...run a lovely hotel. The lobby area is very open and friendly with a wonderful bar for a drink, a glass of wine or a cappuccino. A few years ago, they constructed an outdoor terrace annexed to the front of the hotel and this provides a comfy seating area with an outside feel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Most of them have nice terraces to sit on in the evening with a glass of wine. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the beach in Alassio. The beach in Alassio is a sand beach...an anomaly in Europe, as most are rock. So soothing to walk down to the beach and rent yourself a chair and colorful umbrella for the day and listen to the waves crashing on the shore and the sing song lilt of the Italian voices all enjoying the day at the beach. Alassio is truly an undiscovered gem, given that it is so conveniently located to so many other tourist spots - close to Cinque Terre and all of the towns on the French Riviera as well (closest airport is Nice). If you are feeling very adventurous, give it a try for a couple of days!

Everything perfect in this hotel even though it doesn't have a sea view. Located about 8 min walk from Alassio train station. Easy to drag your suitcase. Big room and big bed. Comfortable enough to sleep though the bed was a little bit hard for me but we slept well. Entering the room, I feel like going home to visit my grandmother's house. In fact I could smell Anais anais perfume, my grandmother's favorite perfume. I wonder if I am just imagining but it gives me a feeling of vacationing with family and not a hotel. We opened the terrace door as we found it a bit warm in the night and closed it again at dawn. Breakfast was very good. It's the only hotel during our week's trip in Italy where we could order omelette for breakfast. Love it. This was perfect accommodation for us as it is our first time vacationing in the Italian Riviera and I had a list of places to visit therefore a sea view was not high on my criteria in choosing a hotel this time. Alassio during Easter is not warm enough to go swimming in the beach but enough to sunbathe. We enjoyed sitting down in one of the benches in the promenade and just watched the sea and the view. It was sunny the whole time while we were in Alassio.

While in Alassio, we went for a walk along the promenade to Laigueglia. Beautiful little town. The whole promenade walk is the best we ever have experienced. Very clean and they have put benches in the whole stretch so if you are tired, you could relax your legs and enjoy the sea view. Unlimited view. In Laigueglia, we walked up the hill to go to Colla Micheri to look for Thor Heyerdahl's grave site. While in Alassio, we visited San Remo one day and another day, we went to Finalborgo, a medieval place located in Finale Ligure.

If we will go back to Alassio, we will stay here again. It's a lovely family hotel. We were given a room with a balcony and a view to the parking area. Just felt comfortable. Price a night was very reasonable too.

My husband needed 1 sweater to be washed. It was fixed by the hotel staff. I have to mention though that I found a self-service laundry on the side of the parking area close to the hotel. This is perfect especially if you stay longer than 4 days. No need to fill up your suitcase with clothes. Remember Alassio has nice boutiques to shop so no need to fill up your suitcase.

Wifi is free and works well. What is amusing though is that you are given 1 password for each gadget. Maybe the owners could improve that in the future. One password for all gadgets is enough. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
