Description: The Loggia Rambaldi, a 16th-century building by the school of the architect Giulio Romano, looks onto the harbour of Bardolino right where the lake, coming further inland after the Belvedere bay, opens up to become a welcoming amphitheatre. It was built towards the end of the 1500s by the Marquis Girolamo Rambaldi, who conceived it as a belvedere on the lake facing his stately home in Bardolino. The Loggia has survived the centuries and is witness to an ambitious project that was later modified. Fortunately, neither the erosion of the elements nor that resulting from changing customs have interfered with its architectural worth, and it stands today as one of Bardolino’s most precious buildings. The outcome is a setting that is both simple and harmonious, where historical charm merges with the warmth and attention generated by individuals who have chosen professional catering not only because it is a long family tradition, but above all because they are passionate about their work. The dining room is divided lengthwise into three ‘naves’ by columns that also support the beautiful vaulted ceiling and it features a large fireplace that gives warmth and additional atmosphere. It is without doubt a splendid setting for any occasion.

We have eaten here before on previous visits to bardolino and always found it very good, not this time however, the food was delicious, but service oh dear!!! We were ignored for 50 mins plus once we finished our mains, not one member of staff came back to offer us coffee or desert's,which we would have liked, the restaurant wasn't even that busy,we then decided to go elsewhere for deserts and had to wait a further 40 mins for the bill, which we had to ask for 3 times, not good customer service and it will put us off going again,as soo many other restaurants are far busier and look after you so much better, disappointed to say the least, avoid unless you want ignoring.!!!

We decided to eat here tonight after browsing the menu and looking at tripadvisor reviews.

The lady who showed us to our seat was very friendly, unfortunately she did not continue to serve us for the rest of the evening. Instead we were attended by a stand-offish lady who seemed increasingly frustrated with us.

The food was lovely, with the fish on both our mains being cooked well and served rapidly. Untortunately, after our mains were taken away we were ignored for 45 minutes! No questions for dessert or coffee, no offer of the bill - when my other half asked to pay by card he was sharply told to go inside!

If you don’t mind being ignored then go, the food is nice but we personally enjoy better service!

We had a mixed seafood starter which was very varied and very filling. It came without any potatoes etc but they were not needed, such was the choice and quantity of fish. We had prawns, squid, scallops, smoked salmon, poached salmon, smoked trout, pickled sardines, mussels, poached cod and one other i cannot recall. A definite feast for any fish lovers!

There are just sometimes when visiting an area, not necessarily for the first time when you go somewhere which is best described as outstanding. Unfortunately trip advisor only goes up to 5 stars as I would give this restaurant 10. The food was exquisite and plentiful, the staff courteous, helpful and knowledgable, the menu very varied and understandable and the wine list extensive. The outlook was over lake Garders promenade the actual lake behind another restaurant. Diners can eat outside under extensive umbrellas, within a large bifolding door conservatory or inside. Tables are well prepared.

Fab food and fab service!! If you want a large pizza then this is the place to go. Baked prawns and scampi were amazing. We had wedding celebrations here last year and we couldn’t fault it.
