Well staffed large hotel - well looked after by staff and really impressed by the quantity and quality of the food on offer.

The rooms were always cleaned well and good range on flatscreen TV, minifridge and comfortable beds

This a a large hotel built for the 2006 Olympics. Rooms are adequate, most with balconies. We got full board plus free ski passes in the price. Ski lifts close by either by walking or free bus. Good skiing for beginners, intermediates, not extensive enough for a week if you are experienced. The food was very good and plentiful. They offered a lunch pack to takeaway or eat in. All the staff were helpful and happy. There was some entertainment going on in the evenings. The only down side perhaps, clientele were mainly students and some were noisy coming back at night, lost in the corridors. The hotel should have an escort for singing, lost students! It was a good hotel deal though.

Room Tip: If you want a balcony to store skis, ask when booking.

We went to this hotel in February 2015. A party of 44 students and 6 staff. We had been moved from our original ski resort to Bardonecchia, and the village Olimpico was where we were put.
For a hotel that was developed as I understand for the winter olympics 2006 it has stood up well to the passage of time.
Hard to get a real figure but we suspect that there were about 800 students plus teachers staying here. The hotel is divided into apartment blocks, each with about 6 floors, 20 rooms a floor and 4 beds to a room. The rooms were really good, large with excellent heating, big windows and so much storage that no one had need to have clothes lying around on the floor. The lift system worked well until the French schools got into using them, they did like them to stop or call at very single floor. With big security doors at each floor level it was possible;e to cut noise to a minimum. However I suspect if you were closer to the disco which played every night until 1 am it wasn't quite so good.
Food wise the hotel had to operate a first and second sitting which meant we ate at 8.30 in the morning and again at 1.30 and finally dinner at 8.15.
They were late only twice in 24 meals, and the tables were set up ready for us. Food was in the form of a buffet, or queueing to get from the hot food counters. The amount of food available was unbelievable. My colleagues who have very large appetites were stuffed. The variety of food was excellent ranging form veggie to all out meat. It was fresh cooked and they cooked regularly on the griddle at the back of the serving area so it was hot and fresh. Biggest disappointment was deserts seemed to run out faster for the last sitting, key tip, get your desert first and then the rest of your food.
All round the hotel there were staff employed to entertain or help direct you. Large screens for TV/football, a small swimming pool, (better to go to the community sports centre) but still adequate if all you really wanted to do was splash around. Bar was available and busy but quick. Other sports facilities were there like a weights room, table tennis rooms etc. Hotel reception were organised and meticulous.
They even provided every day a meeting room for us, though we did hold a corridor meeting.
Packed lunches were good thyough they forgot the staff lunches and said afterwards they had been left in reception. Hmm thats why all the rest came in two big crates ready to give out or take up to the ski slopes.
Cleanliness was excellent, everyday the rooms were tided and swept through, bathrooms cleaned.
We really did l;ike this place even though it was on a vast scale and so organised.

Room Tip: Wifi was located in the reception and bar area. Good room away from the disco area, so on floor 4 a...

The city is beautiful, I just know the city in the winter time. The Villaggio Olimpico served as alojamennto for athletes at the Winter Olympics, so the rooms are simple, but with a great size, it is worth the cost to stay right near the ski slopes and close to restaurants and bars!

Just a couple of minutes walk from the foot of the slopes with brilliant buffet restaurant. Great for large parties or groups. Very close to the market shops. Includes a small pool and a very good sized gym. Not a good place to stay for a couple or elderly as school ski trips usually stay here. Free wifi though, always a bonus.
