We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, friendly staff, great service, and the good food. The tables are elegantly set. The truffle risotto was heavenly, and paired nicely with the local Franciacorta wine. Our meal was rather pricey for lunch, but we realize we were also paying for the atmosphere and the friendly, attentive wait staff. I would return again.

A very pretty place for a meal. Food is generally good. Service is fine. It was convenient for us as it was just across our hotel. They were generous with the bread and the meringue which came after the meal.
Overall a pleasant experience.

I recently had dinner at Antico Beccaria while in Brescia on a business trip. From the exterior, I was attracted to the overall, cozy atmosphere seen through the windows lining Via Beccaria. I was told that the restaurant and the via it is located on were named after a famous Italian lawyer.

I was warmly welcomed by the hostess and practically everyone from the wait staff greeted me. I was seated indoors at a window table looking out at a traffic-free via and people out for an evening stroll. The interior is beautifully decorated with lots of rich dark wood paneling and shelves lined with bottles of fine wines and spirits. Tables were set with fine linen tablecloths and napkins. Serviceware (dishes, utensils, and glassware) were all top quality. Classical music played over the restaurant's audio system which added to the overall very relaxing atmosphere.

The menu contained a balanced mix of both seafood and meat antipasti, primi (pasta/ soups) and entrees. My waitress was most helpful in making suggestions and she provided complete and detailed descriptions of some of the chef's specialties.

While many items were tempting, I started with an antipasto of cubed, raw, Yellow Fin Tune served with cherry tomatoes and topped with shaved fennel. The presentation, which was served with elegance under a crystal domed plate, was elegant and the tuna was very fresh. The shaved fennel topping the tuna made a tuna a little difficult to eat. I followed this with an entree of mussels, clams, shrimp, squid and jumbo prawns that were sauteed in a Gran Marnier sauce. I normally don't care for sauces and flavor enhancers when eating seafood, as I prefer to taste the sea, however, the sweetness of the Gran Marnier was pleasant and not overpowering. Unfortunately, the mussels were slightly overcooked and there were numerous pieces of broken mussel shells throughout the dish. The entree was served with toasted, sliced bread for dunking and mopping up extra sauce, however, there was very little sauce. The portion size was generous and I was overall satisfied with this entree.

For dessert, I had the Tart Tartin that was nicely plated with a dollop of heavy whipped cream topped with a decorative piece of dark chocolate. The flavors were pleasing and the pastry crust was perfectly baked. This was served with a complimentary glass of Passito, a wine made from grapes that have been dried to concentrate their juice.

Prices were somewhat on the high side, with my above meal, plus a split of Ca'del Bosco Franciacorta wine and a glass of Franciacorta grappa, totaling 74.00 euros. I believe that the quality, quantity, and service were worthy of this pricing. I enjoyed my meal and I highly recommend Antico Beccaria to the TripAdvisor community.

I was there for lunch this weekend and it was a nice experience. The place is really nice decorated and the staff was really kind. The food was also very good, with home-made pasta, good local products and good desserts. The only this is that it was really full and they took some time between the different courses. But it was not so much.
You must book before, specially if you're going on a holiday.
A bit more expensive than other I'm used to go, but in general I think the ratio quality/price is good.

This restaurant majors on presentation, apparently in the hope it will cover the lacklustre food. The staff give the impression we are there for their benefit rather than the other way round. Serving pasta dishes wrapped in aluminium foil inside a perfectly good plate is bizarre only topped by serving fillet of beef with porcini mushrooms wrapped in raw red cabbage leaves. All a bit "emperor's new clothes" and Over-priced
