Hotel La Pace is a very nice place to stay: Staff is outstandlingly friendly and helpful, breakfast is good for this category of hotel. The only thing to improve: Air Condition did not work, unfortunately.

A great small family run hotel with a fantastic view of the abbey of Montecassino. A large selection of pastries for breakfast in a comfortable setting. The hotel lobby is also a mini-World War II museum. The room was very comfortable and clean and the staff very friendly. A 5 minute walk to all sorts of restaurants.

Room tip: Street parking is abundant in the area.

This is the second time I have stayed at Hotel La Pace. This time we got to know the owner, Pino, who took the time both to screen and further explain historical videos for my family and also to serve as our guide up on the mountain, sharing personal stories and conversations he has had with veterans on both sides of the battles and their families, and taking us to sites I had read about but not managed to find. He is expert on the history of the town and the battles, and also referred us to friends who run museums. Pino is such a nice man and host, and he made the trip and history come alive. All of the staff were very friendly. The hotel is walkable to markets and restaurants while not being in the noisy center. Amazing unobstructed view of the abbey fro the rooms. Highly recommend and we will be back.

I highly recommend Hotel La Pace for your place to stay when visiting Cassino/Monte Cassino. Giuseppe (Pino) and the staff were very hospitable and inviting, and helped accommodate my large university group.
The rooms were great, some with terraces with views of the Abbey. They also have many helpful resources in the lobby. Though we did not have the chance given a tight itinerary, Pino offered to provide presentations on the battles of Monte Cassino.
It is located a approx. 500m/5-10 minute walk from the Center and near numerous restaurants/bars.

The Hotel is full of war memorabilia and a very interesting place. Nice place nice people if slightly dated. The staff were excellent and the views of the monastery amazing. Location is good with a just a short walk into the centre.
