what a wonderful small family run hotel !!!! many many thanks to francesco and francesca .... they are the nicest people i have ever met ... the staff were also wonderful . a special mention to anna the 3rd floor housekeeper!!! francesco you are very luck to have her working for you !! i honestly cannot say enough about our stay in castellammare di stabia . we visited so many places around the area and the town itself, try enzo and bruno for a pizza !!! magnificent we ate there 3 times, short train journey to sorrento ( or ferry for €4) , naples , pompeii. a short bus journey from sorrento to positano one of the most beautiful villages in the world. i cannot believe some of the negative reviews regarding the buildings that have become derelict over the years .. why blame the hotel for this ? cars and vespas honking going round small and dangerous bends behind the hotel? would you rather they crash ? again yes there is a litter and graffiti problem all over naples and italy but for me some of that adds to the very old culture of the place. it is so busy in these places and with the very small cobbled streets dark little alley ways it must make it impossible for any authority to keep it pristine as some would like to perceive it. but they cant. in positanto there is a local population of approx 2000 they can easily get 12000 visitors a day it must be an absolute nightmare to manage what some expect from them . in castellamare itself there are litter bins and trash cans everywhere a lot more than we have home here in ireland . so my only advise to anyone going to that area do your homework and if your looking for sand sea and sangria you are going to the wrong place .. but if you want culture good food reasonable prices cheap travel the warmest friendliest local people then i recommend castellammare di stabia and the surrounding area.
once again many thanks to all at the hotel europa stabia
kindest regards
