Holiday at the towers hotel sorrento

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 21 Jul 2024
Lovely hotel, lovely room, couldn’t fault any of the staff all very welcoming had a great 2 weeks holiday with my husband the location of the hotel is a bit isolated but not to difficult to get to where you wanted to go the only downside was the pool guy ( Mario ) reserving 50plus sunbeds around the pool these were for local residents to use this happened every Saturday , Sunday and during the week it was about 10 beds reserved some of them were never used the guests at the hotel never managed to get a sunbed around the pool side this only happened when (Mario)was on duty in my opinion the paying guests should be the priority and not locals. Jackie & bill lawrie
I would like a response from the hotel management

Hotel room was average but clean. No storage space apart from a couple of drawers and a rail, not enough so we had to use our suitcases during the 11 night stay to keep clothes in. Has a bath with shower over it, very steep to get in and out the bath to have a shower, not good if you have mobility issues.
Staff around the pool and reception were really helpful. Bar is expensive, 7 euros for a small beer!
Shuttle bus is 3 euros per way to local lovely town Vico equesnse, I recommend Titos restaurants and pizzeria for food! Amazing there.
The hotel food was nice at breakfast, plenty of pastries, continental food and the staff were lovely.
Only ate in the restaurant once and that was enough! Calamari was awful looked like cat food, couldn’t eat it, pizzas were burned on the bottom and pasta was beyond all dente, it was hard. Seafood linguine had no shellfish in it, I asked a waiter where the clams and mussels were that weee stayed in the menu, he shrugged and walked off! Absolutely terrible !!They charged 300 euros for 6 of us, so expensive, they tried to charge us for extra drinks which we had not had. I complained and they were not happy. But I did get them taken off along with the two seafood linguines which had no fish in it!! Such a rip off and was scammed. Go elsewhere for food!!

Room tip: Avoid the restaurant at night it’s overly priced and not worth it at all! Go somewhere else even if you pay for a taxi to the local town!

Just returned from a weeks stay, it was so hot!
Pointers for the hotel:
On arrival if you go by coach it will drop you off at the top of the drive of the hotel & you you have to walk down
past the car park.
You can get a shuttle bus from the hotel to take you to the train station for Sorrento, Pompeii etc, you have to book this at reception (you are not told this at reception when you book in) €3 each way, we found this the best way of travelling and the bus drops you right outside the station. Taxi’s are very expensive (€80 one way to Sorrento).
If eating at the restaurant you have to book a table for the following day, the food was ok and the menu only changed once while we were there for a week so it was repetitive. Be prepared to wait, also Italians always come first when being served! Breakfasts were mainly continental although there was scrambled egg and (bacon when you could get it). Also beware of the white chairs they have black toggles holding the seat cover on which left black on the back of the chairs and this transferred onto my clothes and it doesn’t wash out!
We had no issues with the hotel, the view from our room was beautiful & the housekeeping was excellent.
There are staff around the pool to take any orders for drinks but no one approached us all the time we were there, which was poor. Sunbeds were plentiful and towels are provided.
Our room had a corner bath with overhead shower that was really steep to get into which some people might have an issue with.
If you’ve booked with TUI dont expect to see a rep we didn’t see one all the time we were there.
The location to this hotel was on a main road and out of the way, but is ideal if you have a car.
Stunning sunsets!

This was a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. The staff are warm, welcoming and treated us like family members. Big shout out to Ciro & Pepe who are absolute legends.

The room was fabulous. Food never anything but excellent. Pool delightful. Views over the bay and Vesuvio stunning. Even the hotel arranged excursion was amazing.

We can’t wait to return. We’re even changing a pre booked holiday to revisit.

Room tip: Rebook to return!

The Towers Hotel, formerly Crown is located approximately 35 minutes drive south to Sorrento.
Hotel needs some TLC and it lacked atmosphere as it had the most beautiful outlook to Mt Vesuvius, lively little private beach and luxious pool. Staff somewhat accommodating. Breakfast buffet was quite ordinary and dining room like a cafeteria.
Bathroom taps a nightmare and leaked constantly.

Room tip: It's quite far from attraction but would be an ok place to chill.

Our first holiday to Italy & we decided to go with Jet2 Holidays as we've always had a good experience with them. The only downside this time was our flights were changed from midday to evening, and a slight delay (30 minutes) on top of that meant that when we got to the hotel at 11.30pm everything was closed, however the staff managed to sort me and my wife out with a much appreciated cold beer & a really nice Ham & Mozzarella Ciabatta. First impressions when we woke up and saw the view from our room was stunning - Vesuvius in all it's glory right in front of us across the bay of Naples. Room was stylish & good air con and fridge with tea/coffee making facilities and comfy bed. Great shower and bathroom too! A huge number of channels on the TV but the only English channel was BBC news - a small issue tbh but it's nice to have a little home comfort in the background when you are getting ready for dinner. Talking of dinner - WOW! The food at Towers is incredible, not a huge variety on the menu, but every dish we had was first class, beautiful seafood, Pasta and Pizzas with excellent desserts. Loved the little private pebbled beach and pool area - we never missed out on a Sunbed no matter what time we went, really well managed.
The staff are a credit to the hotel, in fact when we left I got a bit emotional saying goodbye to the reception and bar staff as they made us feel so welcome (enjoy your retirement Pepé!) . Would recommend a visit and won't hesitate to return.
